LSE morning is the FTSE session
London cash from 07:00 to 10:30 UTC is prime. That window holds the honest 65 to 115 point ATR. After lunch the tape often mean-reverts. New York can splash oil and dollar risk into UK100, but the home auction is the LSE open.
UK data at 06:00 UTC reprices the index in the futures book before cash. The 07:00 UTC open then hunts that pre-market range. Wait 10 to 15 minutes. A 10-point scalp at the bell is a donation to the opening imbalance.
Sterling-point math and a 28-point adult stop
Many CFDs treat 1.00 lot as £1 per point, about $1.29. A 1.2 point spread is about $1.55. Intraday belongs at 22 to 36 points. Swing belongs at 55 to 95 points. Scalps at 10 to 18 points need a settled opening range and a quiet sector tape.
If you start free on Venasri, 27.66 lots at a 28-point stop is 1% of $100,000. Evaluation default is about 13.8 lots. Venasri Equity Guard should flatten if a 06:00 UTC UK print plus an oil dump both hit the same morning.
BoE, UK 06:00 data, and the commodity sector tape
Bank of England decisions and 06:00 UTC UK CPI or GDP are scheduled FTSE shocks. Unscheduled oil and mining swings are the other half of the index. A $2 WTI move can travel UK100 even when the UK calendar is blank, because energy giants sit in the weight.
Black out BoE and 06:00 UTC red folders. If you already hold USOIL or GER40, you may already own the sector or Europe-beta half. Correlation Guard should cap that stack. 50 and 100 handles (8250, 8300, 8350) are where those sector dumps find stops.
UK100 session gates after the LSE auction
Trade 07:15 to 10:30 UTC. Require spread under 1.5 points, oil not blindsiding the energy weight, and a stop beyond the 50 or 100 handle plus the opening range. Reject 06:55 UTC "get in before cash" tickets.
Load those gates on the AI Pre-Trade Checklist. UK100 pays the slower European index. It bills traders who scalp it like NAS100 at the bell.
