IP stability is the FTMO-specific decider
ZeroMQ local TCP is also faster (sub-5ms), which matters for gold STOPLEVEL retries against a $5,000 daily cap. The funded-specific reason is still IP. If FTMO already allowed the VPS, do not roam. If you never had a VPS and passed on MetaAPI only, stay consistent with that path and document it. Mixing weekly is the smell.
EAs are allowed. Hyperactivity is not. Neither bridge should add a tick trailer.
Dual-bridge as insurance, not as two strategies
Primary ZeroMQ, secondary MetaAPI, same magic 777888 ownership rules so two modifiers do not fight. activate Venasri free on your MT5 account on the FTMO login and enable both only after you tested flatten on each path. A backup that has never closed a ticket is not a backup.
Cost: VPS plus free Venasri versus cloud fees. For a $540 Challenge and an 80% split, the VPS is usually cheaper than one failed funded month.
Both paths still flatten at 4.25%
Standard news rules still apply whichever bridge is up. Cloud does not waive the 2-minute funded window.
Do not migrate the week you pass Phase 2
Pass, keep the same VPS, keep the same EA, keep the same IP. Change risk percent down for funded, not infrastructure. If you must move hosts, do it after a payout cycle, with a documented window, not during NFP week. Swing versus Standard is a product choice, not a reason to change sockets.
Test /close on both bridges. The kill switch you only set up on ZeroMQ is missing when that path is the one that died.
