Seven losers should still leave the day alive
Daily loss on a $100,000 stage is 5%, $5,000, reset at 00:00 server time and marked on live equity. If you risk 1% you can be done in five trades. If you risk 0.50%, $500, you need ten. The published working band of 0.35% to 0.65% is the version that still has a seventh stop inside the line at the top end, with $450 left at $650. That $450 is the spread and the slip, so the seventh stop should be rare, not a plan.
The stage maximum is 10%, $10,000, and the first hit pauses allocation for 2 weeks. Two full days at $5,000 are that hole. Open a Venasri account and save the band in cash, $350 to $650, so a new market does not get a new percentage by accident.
The lot is the output, the dollars are the input
At $10 per pip on 1.00 lot, a $350 risk and a 20-pip FX stop wants 1.75 lots. A $650 risk on the same stop wants about 3.25 lots. Gold at $10 per 0.10 move turns $350 into 0.70 lots on a 50-pip stop, and $650 into 1.30 lots. If your structural gold stop is 70 pips, those lots fall to 0.50 and about 0.93. Change the lot when the stop changes. Do not keep the lot and hope.
A 1.45 lot gold position with a 70-pip stop is about $1,015, already above the band. It can be a single good idea on a cash account and a score problem here. Bot controls should reject anything above $650 unless you have consciously cut the band's trade count for the day.
The score cares about the outlier, not only the sum
Seven orderly $500 losses are ugly and still inside the day. One $2,000 loss is inside the day too, and it is the trade that can drop the Edge Score under the stage minimum. The score runs from 50 at early stages toward 90 or higher later. A freeze lasts a month, which is longer than the 2-week drawdown pause, and it can arrive on a day the 5% line never printed.
News has no blackout, so the outlier is often a slipped fill rather than a brave click. Size the planned stop at the low end of the band on CPI, NFP, and FOMC. Weekend holding is allowed, and a gap is another way to turn a $500 plan into a $900 loss. The band is the planned fill. The guard is what handles the unplanned one.
Equity Guard sits beyond the band, not inside it
Equity Guard belongs at 4.25%, $4,250 on $100,000. That is wider than seven $350 stops and tighter than the official $5,000. If you are trading the $650 end of the band, six stops are $3,900 and the seventh should never be placed, because $4,550 plus slip crosses both the guard and the day. Stop sending orders when the open loss passes $3,500.
The 20-day minimum means you will have more than one bad morning. The lot plan has to be boring enough to repeat on day 19. Expert Advisors are allowed to execute the band and are not allowed to invent a new one after a loss. If the robot doubles the lot, it has left the plan that keeps seven stops inside $5,000.
