The first New York candle is information, not an entry
Cash equities open at 9:30 in the morning in New York, which is 13:30 UTC. The first one-minute or five-minute bar is often a whip through both sides of the overnight range. Entering its midpoint because NAS100 "always runs" is how a 60-point plan becomes a 120-point fill. Let that bar close. Then decide whether the structural stop is 60, 80, or 100 points, and size from the stop you will actually honor.
There is no news blackout if 13:30 lands on a data release. The fill counts in live equity immediately. Open a Venasri account and put 13:30 UTC on the session clock next to 00:00 server reset, because those are different deadlines and both of them matter.
Points are not the risk unit. Cash is
Confirm the contract specification on your Axi symbol. If NAS100 pays $1 per point per contract, a 100-point stop allows 5 contracts at $500, and a 60-point stop allows about 8 contracts at $480. If US30 pays $1 per point, a 80-point stop allows about 6 contracts at $480. If your broker's point value is $0.10 or $5, the contract count changes and the $500 does not. Read the specification before you copy a lot from a screenshot.
The working band is $350 to $650 so seven full stops still approach the $5,000 day slowly. A 100-point NAS100 idea at 10 contracts, under a $1 point value, is $1,000 and already outside the band. Bot controls should multiply point value times stop times contracts and reject the order above $650.
NAS100 and US30 in the same minute are one bet
They both reprice off the same US cash open. Two "small" scalps, $500 on each, are a $1,000 US-index bet. Three losers of that pair are $3,000, most of the day, and you have only expressed one opinion. Pick one index per open unless the cash risks are halved so the pair still equals one unit.
The Edge Score, from 50 to 90 or higher, will treat a doubled open as a risk event if it loses, even when each ticket looked compliant alone. A month-long multiplier freeze is a steep price for a correlated add. The 10% stage hole remains $10,000 and pauses you for 2 weeks. Index gaps at the cash open are a common way to travel toward that hole without a second setup.
Be flat or protected before the whip, and gone at $4,250
Equity Guard at $4,250 should already be on before 13:30 UTC. If the morning FX session used $3,000, you do not have an index scalp left. The remaining room is $2,000 to the official line and $1,250 to the guard. A 100-point slip on an oversized NAS100 book can cover that in one bar. Skip the open.
Expert Advisors may scalp the index, and they should be time-filtered so they cannot fire on the unfinished 13:30 bar. Weekend holding is allowed, which is rarely a gift on cash indices that gap at the reopen. Flatten index inventory before the server rolls through a weekend, and remember settlement on the 1st: the last Friday open of the month is a poor moment to experiment with contract count.
