Trade the candle after the whip, not the whip itself
The rule is to let the 13:30 UTC opening candle settle before you enter NAS100 or US30. That candle is where stops from the overnight range get cleared. A scalp that needs to be first will buy the high of the sweep and sell the low of it, sometimes in the same five to fifteen minutes. You do not need both sides. You need the direction that remains after the sweep is obvious. Until then, flat is the index position.
Breakout will not close this trade for you at an equity-market bell. The crypto firm calendar is 24/7, and if the index is on the terminal it can still gap with the cash open. Sign up on Venasri with a session rule that blocks new index entries until that open candle has closed. The block is your edge. Speed is the other side of the trade.
60 to 100 points, then the lot falls out of the cash
Use a 60 to 100 point structural stop, not a 15-point scratch that cannot survive the spread after the open. On a contract specified at $1 per point per 1.00 lot, $500 of risk is 8.33 lots at 60 points and 5.00 lots at 100 points. $350 of risk, the low end of the Breakout band, is 5.83 lots at 60 points and 3.50 lots at 100 points. If your platform point value is different, recompute. Do not keep the lot and hope the spec matches a blog.
A 200-point adverse open on 8.33 lots is about $1,666, a large share of a $4,000 day, which is why you were supposed to wait. US30 can run even wider in points than NAS100 on a cash open. They are highly correlated. Long both is one bet. Bot controls should allow one index, not two, until the first stop is no longer the opening candle.
Scalps fail the API limit before they fail the thesis
Index scalping tempts constant stop edits. Breakout throttle is the exchange API rate limit. A strategy that modifies on every point will get rejected modifies exactly when the open is widest. Place the 60 to 100 point stop, then leave it. Take partials a few times, not fifty. If you need more activity than that, the timeframe is too small for this account.
News is allowed, and 13:30 UTC is also when some US data prints. A data candle and an opening candle stacked together are a reason to stay flat, not a reason to halve the stop. The slip counts against the 4% 2-step day or the 3% 1-step day immediately. There is no best-day cap to make a lucky open scalp a compliance problem. There is also nothing to forgive a bad one.
Flatten the index book before it becomes the whole day
Equity Guard near $3,250 on a $100,000 2-step account is the backstop if the settled candle was a trap and the real move runs 200 points. On 1-step use about $2,250. An index scalp should not be open into the weekend crypto session by accident. If the terminal does not flatten the index when cash equities close, you flatten it. Overnight index risk plus overnight Bitcoin risk is two macros on one 4% line.
The static 8% maximum is $8,000. A week of opening-drive mistakes can walk there without a single spectacular loss. After two full index stops in one open, stop for the day. The pass plan of 10 to 16 trades assumed $500 risks with edge, not four opening gambles. The open will be there tomorrow, and tomorrow UTC day will have a fresh $4,000 if you did not spend this one.
