The calendar is open on purpose
Breakout states that news trading is unrestricted and that CPI and FOMC crypto volatility is allowed. You may hold, enter, or exit through the print on both the evaluation and the funded book. Firms that void profit inside a short window around the release are a different contract. Do not import their flatten-all preset and then wonder why you cut a winner the rules would have let you keep.
The product is 24/7 crypto perpetuals, with BTC, ETH, and SOL as the core book, on Breakout Terminal and TradingView. Macro prints move that book because they move dollar liquidity, not because Breakout lists a forex calendar as a ban list. Sign up on Venasri if you want the print traded on purpose. An accidental position is not a macro strategy. It is inventory you forgot.
Slippage is not a dispute, it is daily loss
On a $100,000 2-step account the day is $4,000, from day-start balance at 00:00 UTC. A stop that slips $2,800 still counts $2,800. There is no rebate because the candle was CPI. On 1-step the day is $3,000, so that same slip is almost the entire session. The lifetime lines remain 8% static on 2-step and 6% trailing on 1-step. News does not switch those models off for an hour.
Size the idea so a bad fill, not the hoped fill, fits the day. If 1.00 BTC lot is $1 per $1 of price, a $2,000 slip is $2,000 per lot. Two lots are the whole $4,000 day. The planned stop might have been $600. The print does not owe you the plan. Bot controls should cut size before known prints even though the firm does not require the cut.
A voluntary pause is not the same as a firm rule
You can choose to be flat thirty minutes either side of CPI because your slippage history says so. That is your risk policy. It is not Breakout law, and you should not describe it as a ban when you compare firms. The comparison that matters is the dollar: other desks may delete the profit and also fine the loss. Breakout keeps both, and the loss is uncapped by any news clause.
FOMC days often overlap the US ETF flow window, which is already the busiest crypto cash of the day. Spreads that are $12 to $28 in a normal Bitcoin hour can widen hard in the minute of the statement. If your stop is a market stop, you have accepted the widen. A limit exit that does not fill is not a stop. Know which order type is actually working.
The flatten has to be awake when the headline hits
Equity Guard on a $100,000 2-step book should be live at about $3,250 of daily loss before the print, not after you see the candle. On 1-step use about $2,250. The guard is allowed. Breakout permits risk guards that trade real depth. A flatten into a print is a real order. It may slip too, which is why it fires $750 early on the 2-step day rather than at $4,000 on the nose.
Do not stack a news entry and a full-size swing in the same hour. There is no consistency cap to punish a huge green CPI day on the standard evaluation, which tempts exactly that stack. The red version of the stack is the account. One permitted headline is enough volatility for one unit of 0.50% risk.
