Permission to hold is not a hedge
The weekend rule is 24/7/365 trading with no required flatten. Overnight and Saturday inventory are legal on the 1-step and 2-step crypto evaluations. You will not get a violation for a position that is still open at 21:00 UTC on Friday. You will get a breach if that position trades through 4% of day-start balance on the 2-step book, or 3% on the 1-step book, at any second of Saturday or Sunday.
Breakout daily loss resets at 00:00 UTC from day-start balance, including on days when traditional FX is closed. A losing Saturday is its own day. It does not pool with Friday just because you think of them as one weekend. Create a Venasri login with a weekend profile that is smaller than the weekday profile, even though the firm does not force the reduction.
Saturday orderbooks are thinner than the rule page
BTC, ETH, and SOL still print when the humans who usually watch them are offline. The danger window is exactly that: thin weekend books and liquidation cascades. A $1,800 to $4,200 Bitcoin range is a normal full day in the contract notes. On 1.00 lot, where $1 of price is $1, a $4,000 weekend range is $4,000. That is the entire 2-step daily line on a $100,000 account. The position did not need to be wrong by a thesis. It needed to be open.
SOL is the higher-beta cousin. You do not need a separate lot formula to know that an unwatched alt wick can outrun a Bitcoin stop. If you cannot check the book, the hold should be sized so a full daily range is still inside the guard, or it should be closed. Bot controls can flatten at a clock you choose on Friday even when Breakout would have allowed the hold.
Financing and Sunday gaps still debit the day
Holding is free of a flatten rule and it is not free of charges. Wednesday financing, on contracts that bill a triple swap or a funding equivalent, posts to the account and counts toward the daily loss like any other debit. A Sunday open gap does the same. Traders who budget only the price stop forget the charge and then call the breach a platform error. The equity number is the number the 4% test uses.
Because the anchor is day-start balance, not a higher-of-equity ratchet, a weekend winner does not automatically tighten Monday the way some FX props do. A weekend loser does not get that kindness. The loss is real at 00:00 UTC each night it keeps growing. Static 8% on the 2-step book is still there underneath, $8,000 on $100,000, if the daily lines do not get you first.
Arm the flatten before you leave the screen
Equity Guard should be active at about $3,250 of daily loss on a $100,000 2-step account before Friday evening, and nearer $2,250 on 1-step. A guard you enable on Monday is a diary, not a control. Crypto funding and wicks do not wait for you to wake up and read the Breach email. Test that the flatten still works when the API is quiet and the book is wide.
If you swing on purpose, write the maximum open loss you will tolerate over Saturday as a number smaller than the daily line. A planned $1,500 weekend risk on $100,000 can survive a bad mark. A planned $3,500 weekend risk is one widened spread away from $4,000. The firm gave you the right to hold. You still have to decide whether the right is worth the tail.
