Same 5% and 10%, opposite reason to overtrade
BrightFunded 2-Step uses 5% daily ($5,000) and 10% static max ($10,000) from the higher of day-start balance or floating equity at 00:00 CE(S)T. FTMO uses 5% and 10% from day-start balance plus floating PnL at 00:00 CE(S)T. The clocks rhyme. The equity-versus-balance detail does not. A +$2,400 open winner into Dutch midnight lifts BrightFunded's next-day floor. FTMO remeasures PnL without converting that float into a higher reference in the FundingPips sense, because its stated basis is initial balance anchored from day-start plus floating PnL, not "higher of."
Targets favor Amsterdam: 8% then 5% with five minimum days at $495, versus FTMO 10% then 5% with four days at $540. BrightFunded makes you stay one extra day and asks $2,000 less Phase 1 profit. There is no consistency rule on the standard 2-Step. FTMO also has no hard consistency formula. The behavioral difference is Trade2Earn, not a best-day cap.
Trade2Earn tokens versus a Swing news contract
Every closed BrightFunded lot mints tokens redeemable for free challenges. That is a loyalty loop. It is also how traders turn a 0.40-lot EURUSD process into a 1.20-lot process "for tokens" and tag the 5% daily. FTMO will never pay you to overtrade. BrightFunded will, accidentally, if you treat tokens as yield. Overnight and weekend holding is allowed at BrightFunded. Funded news is not: a 5-minute window around red-folder events is restricted after you pass. Phase 1 and Phase 2 allow news. FTMO Standard funded uses 2 minutes and a weekend flatten. FTMO Swing allows both news and weekends.
Payouts at BrightFunded are every 14 days, with 7-day weekly payouts via add-on. Split starts at 80% and can reach 100% at the third scale-up. FTMO scales 80% to 90% bi-weekly from day 14. Personal EAs and risk managers are allowed at BrightFunded; HFT, latency arbitrage, and group copy-trading are not; 2,000 messages per day applies. Platforms are MT5, cTrader, and DXtrade. FTMO adds MT4. If MT4 is mandatory, Amsterdam is already out.
Who should farm tokens, and who should buy Swing
Pick BrightFunded if you want 8%/5% on a static 10%, you will hold weekends, you can ignore tokens when the lot is not in the plan, and you accept a 5-minute funded news fence. Pick FTMO Swing if news holding after funding is the product you are buying. Pick FTMO Standard if you want MT4 or the longer payout file and you are willing to flatten Fridays. Do not pick BrightFunded because "Europe plus 5% / 10%" sounded like FTMO with stickers. The higher-of-equity midnight plus token farming is a different failure mode.
The $45 fee gap is noise. Five minimum days versus four is small. The token loop and the funded 5-minute window are the actual fork. Size both books at 0.45% to 0.55% per idea. Then decide whether your edge needs CPI holding after you are funded. If yes, Swing. If no, Amsterdam is a rational 8% Phase 1 alternative.
Token farming is a lot-size problem the Guard can see
Set Venasri Equity Guard to flatten both firms at 4.25% daily, and add a BrightFunded lot-rate warning so a doubling of trades-per-hour during a token grind trips flatten early. Because BrightFunded uses higher-of-equity at the same CE(S)T midnight family, add a pre-00:00 flatten if floating profit on that login exceeds $1,500. FTMO does not get that extra rule unless you want belt and braces.
Venasri's free prop firm risk guard closes both books in about 3 seconds if either 5% daily is approached. Manual Trade Guard keeps the extra token lots from sitting naked. Prefer BrightFunded when 8%/5% and weekend holds are enough. Prefer FTMO Swing when funded news holding is the point. Do not let tokens pick your lot size on either login.
