Pay-Later and a 4% daily versus cash up front and a 5% daily
Goat 2-Step posts 4% daily and a static 8% to 10% maximum, measured from the higher of day-start balance or floating equity at 00:00 server time (UTC+2/UTC+3). FTMO posts 5% daily and a static 10%, measured from day-start balance plus floating PnL at 00:00 CE(S)T. On $100,000 that is $4,000 versus $5,000 a day and as little as $8,000 versus $10,000 all-in if you landed on Goat's 8% SKU. Goat 1-Step uses a 4% daily with a 6% end-of-day trail. Do not treat Goat Instant like FTMO 2-Step.
Targets on Goat 2-Step are 8% then 5% with three minimum days and a $398 fee, $142 under FTMO's $540. Instant and Triple Payday Goat tiers add a 35% to 40% consistency score. FTMO 2-Step does not. If you buy Goat Instant because Pay-Later felt easy, you also bought that consistency cap. The 2-Step path is the fair comparison with FTMO Challenge Standard or Swing.
Three 0.5% days to first cash, and the 40% cycle cap
Goat's first payout can be on-demand once three profitable days of 0.5%+ are logged, then bi-weekly. That is a different cash clock from FTMO's 14-day wait. Goat also delays payout approval if a single outsized trade generates more than 40% of total cycle profit on Instant or On-Demand tiers. A $3,200 gold runner on a $4,000 cycle is a paperwork problem, not a victory lap. FTMO will risk-review gambling. It will not recompute your payout target because one ticket was 41% of the cycle.
News on Goat funded accounts sits in a 2-minute window; profits inside that window may be excluded unless you buy an add-on. Weekend holding is allowed with standard crypto/CFD margin limits. FTMO Standard uses a 2-minute window and a weekend flatten; Swing removes both. Goat allows risk-management EAs and personal indicators, bans public pass-bots and HFT, caps 2,000 server requests per day, and bans taking more than 50% of profit from sub-2-minute tick scalps. That last clause is closer to Alpha Capital than to FTMO.
Who Pay-Later is for, and who should still wire $540
Pick Goat if cash-on-day-one for the challenge fee is the blocker, you already risk 0.40% or less, you can log three 0.5% days for the first payout, and you will not let one runner become 40% of a cycle on On-Demand. Pick FTMO if you need $5,000 of daily air, a clean static $10,000, Swing news and weekend rights, or you refuse duration and consistency math. Platforms overlap on MT5, cTrader, and the newer books; FTMO still adds MT4 and DXtrade. Goat adds Match-Trader and TradeLocker.
Hong Kong / Madrid on the letterhead does not make Goat a ten-year payout file. FTMO's 2015 start date is the heritage argument. Goat's 2023 start date is the price-and-speed argument. Both can be true. Size the 4% daily as if it were the whole product, because on Goat it nearly is.
Separate size maps for a 4% desk and a 5% desk
Copying FTMO 0.60% gold risk onto Goat spends 15% of the daily budget per stop instead of 12%. In Venasri Equity Guard flatten Goat at 3.25% of the higher of balance or equity, warn at 38% of cycle profit from a single ticket on On-Demand, and flatten FTMO at 4.25% of Prague day-start. Kill shared lot copy between the two logins.
Venasri's free prop firm risk guard closes both accounts before either daily floor is spent, including after a mobile click with no stop. Prefer Goat when Pay-Later and a three-day first payout are the brief. Prefer FTMO when Swing holding and a $10,000 static floor are the brief. The guard's job is to stop Goat from inheriting Prague size.
