Profitable-day counting versus a static 10% floor you already know
Both flagship 2-Step plans print 5% daily and 10% maximum on $100,000 ($5,000 and $10,000). The calculation is not shared. FTMO uses initial-balance logic from day-start balance plus floating PnL at 00:00 CE(S)T Prague. The5ers High Stakes uses the higher of day-start balance or floating equity at 00:00 MT5 server time (GMT+2 winter, GMT+3 summer). A +$2,800 open EURUSD swing into MT5 midnight lifts The5ers' next-day floor; the same ticket on FTMO does not rewrite the reference to the equity peak in the same way.
The5ers then adds a rhythm rule FTMO does not copy: three profitable days of at least 0.5% ($500 on $100,000) per phase. That is the opposite of a best-day haircut. You cannot pass High Stakes by banking 8% on Tuesday and sitting out. You also cannot pass FTMO in three closed days because the minimum is four. If your process already prints small green days, The5ers is aligned. If you hunt one or two outsized London sessions per week, FTMO's lack of a hard consistency cap is the better match, provided risk review does not flag the ticket as gambling.
Platform lock, scaling, and the $45 fee gap
The5ers is MT5 only. FTMO is MT5, MT4, cTrader, and DXtrade. That single fact eliminates The5ers for cTrader-native desks and for traders who want DXtrade on a phone. In return, High Stakes is built as a doubling engine: every 10% milestone can double allocation toward $4,000,000, with 80% to 100% splits plus a monthly salary at the top rungs. FTMO scales to 90% on a bi-weekly payout that starts 14 days after the first funded trade, without a salary line.
Cash at the door is $495 for The5ers $100,000 High Stakes versus $540 for FTMO. Phase targets on High Stakes are 8% then 5% with three minimum days; FTMO is 10% then 5% with four. Bootcamp at The5ers is a different animal: 5% static per step, mandatory stop-loss on every position, and a low entry fee that punishes naked trades. Do not mix Bootcamp habits with High Stakes habits, and do not mix either with FTMO Swing assumptions about news.
News, weekends, and the trader who should walk away
FTMO Swing allows news and weekend holding. FTMO Standard does not, on funded accounts, inside two minutes of red-folder events, and it wants you flat before the weekend. The5ers permits holding through high-impact news on High Stakes and permits overnight and weekend holding across High Stakes, Bootcamp, and Hyper Growth, but it prohibits placing new orders or bracket straddles within two minutes of those events. A straddle bot that is legal on some instant desks is a compliance event here.
Copy-trading signals shared across unrelated users are prohibited at The5ers; self-owned and risk-management EAs are allowed on MT5. FTMO allows EAs on all of its platforms with the 2,000-request cap. Walk away from The5ers if you need cTrader, if you refuse to log three 0.5% days, or if Bootcamp-style mandatory stops are your only cheap path and you will not attach them. Walk away from FTMO if you want salary-plus-doubling on a single MT5 book and you already hold through Friday as policy.
One guard for Prague midnight and MT5 midnight
GMT+2/GMT+3 MT5 midnight and Prague CE(S)T midnight can sit on different sides of a gold tick. If you trade both evaluations, do not share an unmanaged overnight position. In Venasri Equity Guard set FTMO flatten at 4.25% of the Prague day-start and The5ers flatten at 4.25% of the higher of balance or equity, plus a pre-00:00 MT5 close if The5ers floating profit is above $1,200. Hyper Growth's 3% daily / 6% max is a third profile if you add that instant book later.
Venasri's free prop firm risk guard polls both accounts every 3 seconds and auto-flattens before either 5% daily is spent. Manual Trade Guard attaches stops on the MT5 click that The5ers Bootcamp would otherwise fail for being naked, and the same attach path covers FTMO mobile entries. You can prefer The5ers for scaling or FTMO for Swing news, and still refuse to let one overnight ticket decide both outcomes.
