A 10% you know versus an 8% to 14% you might cheapen
FundingPips 2-Step Standard is 5% daily, 10% static, 8% then 5%, three days, $399, higher-of-equity at 00:00 UTC+3. E8 Classic is 5% daily, static max you choose 8% to 14%, 8% then 4%, one day minimum, $488, day-start balance plus floating PnL at 00:00 server time. Combined hurdle is 13% in Dubai versus 12% in Dallas/Prague. Phase 2 at 4% is E8's real gift. The 8% max slider is E8's real tax if you pick it. E8 One (4% daily, 6% EOD trail) is not this comparison.
Midnight still differs. FundingPips explicitly uses the higher of balance or equity. E8 uses day-start plus floating PnL, closer to FTMO language. Overnight gold is usually meaner in Dubai. If you hold winners, that clock may matter more than the 1% Phase 2 discount. If you flatten daily, buy the slider at 12%+ and take the 4% Phase 2.
Tuesday Payday versus an 8-day first cheque
FundingPips can pay every Tuesday. E8 can pay first at day 8, then every 14 days. Week-two cash is a tie depending on which Tuesday you hit. E8 on-demand tiers add a 40% best-day rule FundingPips 2-Step Standard does not have (FundingPips reserves 45% for Zero/On-Demand). News: both funded books use a 5-minute window. Weekends allowed on E8 standard CFD tiers and on selected FundingPips models. Personal EAs allowed at both; E8 bans HFT, latency, public copy; FundingPips wants source ownership for full entry bots.
Platforms: E8 has MT5, cTrader, Match-Trader, TradeLocker. FundingPips matches that set. Platform is a tie. Fee is not: $399 versus $488. You pay $89 extra at E8 to buy slider flexibility and a 4% Phase 2. If you then select 8% max, you paid $89 for less air than Dubai already sold at 10%.
Who should touch the slider
Pick E8 Classic at 12% or 14% max if the 4% Phase 2, one-day minimum, and 8-day payout are the brief and you will not cheapen the slider. Pick FundingPips if $399, Tuesday cash, or a known 10% with no checkout tricks is the brief. Do not pick E8 One because it says One. Do not pick FundingPips Flex thinking it is automatically 14%. Size 0.45% to 0.55% on both 5% dailies. The slider changes maximum loss, not the 5% daily that actually kills the week.
Dallas/Prague 2021 versus Dubai 2022 is a short heritage gap. Checkout UX is the real E8 identity. Tuesday Payday is the real FundingPips identity. Buy the identity you will use, not the one that looked good in a comparison table with the slider left at default.
Profile the slider, then Guard both 5% dailies
In Venasri Equity Guard flatten both at 4.25% daily. If E8 Classic was bought at 8% max, add a 6.5% max-loss warning on that login only. Add FundingPips pre-00:00 UTC+3 flatten when float exceeds $1,500. Do not reuse the E8 One 3.25% profile on Classic or on FundingPips Standard.
Venasri's free prop firm risk guard closes both if either 5% daily is approached. Prefer E8 when you actually buy the wide slider and the 4% Phase 2. Prefer FundingPips when $399 and Tuesday cash are enough. The guard does not care which checkout you enjoyed.
