Plus $5,000 today can mean minus $5,000 is the new life
On Instant Funding's smart-drawdown evaluations, reaching +5% permanently locks the maximum loss at 5% of the start. On $100,000 that is a $5,000 gain followed by a floor $5,000 under the new high-water logic the firm describes, not the original $10,000. Traders hear 'lock' and think protection. The protection removes the lower half of the room you were counting on for the next pullback. FundingPips Standard leaves the static $10,000 where it was.
Both firms can reprice the daily line from the higher of balance or equity at midnight. Instant Funding's daily headline is 5%, matching FundingPips, so the day is $5,000 at both before any lock. The lock is a lifetime event. The midnight rule is a daily event. You can be hit by both in the same week.
Phase 1 is $10,000 there and $8,000 in Dubai
Instant Funding's evaluation path asks for 10% and then 5%, so $10,000 and $5,000, across four minimum days. FundingPips asks for $8,000 and $5,000 across three. You pay $60 more for a larger first target and for the smart lock. The split is 80% to 90%, on a 14-day cycle from the first funded trade. FundingPips can pay Tuesday at 60% through monthly at 100%.
Instant accounts add a 40% best-day score. Forty percent of a $10,000 phase is $4,000. FundingPips uses 45% on Zero and on-demand rewards, and not on the plain 2-step. Open a Venasri account and label smart drawdown separately from Standard. The logos will not do it for you.
The weekend is an add-on on some Instant tiers
Weekend holding on selected Instant tiers requires an add-on. Swing tiers include it. FundingPips allows the weekend on the evaluation and on selected funded models without that same checkout box. A Friday hold you copied from Dubai can be a rule break on the Instant tier you actually own. Funded news at Instant Funding is a two-minute window unless an add-on says otherwise. FundingPips uses five minutes.
Risk managers and personal EAs are allowed. Martingale and grid stacking are banned, inside 2,000 requests, on MT5, cTrader, Match-Trader, and DXtrade. Bot controls should refuse a grid that adds to a loser, on both logins, and they should know which account is allowed to see Monday's open.
After the lock, flatten as if the maximum were $5,000
Equity Guard can start near $4,250 on both 5% days. The moment Instant Funding prints +$5,000, move the lifetime watch. The remaining hole is now on the order of $5,000, not $10,000. A guard that still thinks $90,000 is survival will watch a dead account. Zero at FundingPips needs its own trail watch and its 45% score. Standard does not need the smart-lock adjustment.
Partial open profit before either midnight. A $3,000 float that lifts tomorrow's day, on an account whose lifetime room just shrank to $5,000, is how a green milestone becomes a red week. The $60 fee difference is irrelevant next to that lock. Know which balance you are protecting after the account does the thing you bought it to do.
