Weekend rules are the first risk control
If the firm forbids weekend holds, flatten Friday before thin books. A $2,000 Saturday wick on 0.55 lots is $1,100, already 1.1% with more cascade left. If weekends are allowed, 0.25 lots max with Equity Guard at 3.0% and a $1,800 swing stop you can afford.
connect your MT5 account to Venasri and enable 3-second Equity Guard plus Manual Trade Guard on every BTC ticket. 24/7 markets punish "I will add the stop after dinner."
ETF hours versus liquidation hours
13:30 to 20:00 UTC is when BTC behaves like a US risk asset (NAS100 beta, ETF prints). That is the funded window at 0.55 lots and $600 to $1,100 stops. 00:00 UTC funding and Saturday mornings are liquidation hours. Trading those like London FX is how 12 to 28 point spreads plus a $1,200 wick close the account.
If your firm caps BTC leverage below other CFDs, the 1.11 lot 1% figure may be illegal on that book. Size to the cap or skip. Do not fight the firm's coin limit with 2.00 lots of "conviction."
One crypto-beta budget with ETH, SOL, and Nasdaq
BTC leads ETH and SOL. NAS100 leads BTC in US hours. Combined 0.50%. Put $1/point and a $900 default in the Half-Kelly Lot Size Calculator & Equity Guard. If the broker lot is 0.1 BTC, change the tick to $0.10 and scale lots.
Intraday $600 to $1,100 at 0.55 lots in ETF hours. Swing $1,800 to $3,200 at 0.30 lots only when weekend rules allow. Scalp $250 to $450 only with spread under 18 points and a live book.
BTCUSD checklist: weekend clause, ETF clock, $900 stop, no alt stack
Require firm weekend rule obeyed, 13:30 to 20:00 UTC or a reduced overnight size, unused ETH/SOL/NAS100 budget, $1 tick confirmed, 12 to 28 spread acceptable versus stop, $900-class stop, $1,000 handle mapped.
Store it on the Pre-Trade AI Confluence Checklist. Manual Trade Guard attaches the $900 stop in milliseconds. Bitcoin does not pause for a phone fingerprint at 03:00 UTC Sunday.
