US overlap is the SOL session; weekends are a different asset
Weekend SOL is not a gift. Thin books plus 1.5× beta turn a $4 Bitcoin ripple into a $6 Solana air pocket. If your firm allows weekend holds, cut size in half. If it bans them, flatten Friday. $5 and $10 handles (150, 160, 175) are the weekend stop magnets.
Broker lot specs vary; the $4.50 stop does not
Brokers use 10 SOL or 100 SOL per lot. Normalize to dollars: a $4.50 structural stop at 1% of $100,000 is 22.22 lots on the reference spec. A 2.5 tick spread on a $1.50 scalp is a large slice of the stop. Intraday belongs at $3.50 to $6.00. Swing belongs at $9.00 to $16.00.
If you start free on Venasri, use 11 lots at 0.50% until the spec is confirmed in MT5. Venasri Equity Guard should flatten on funding-squeeze minutes, because SOL can travel $6 while the quote looks like a 2-tick market.
Funding squeezes and the BTC lead that SOL overshoots
High-leverage perpetual funding can squeeze SOL 5% to 10% in an hour without a protocol headline. BTC and ETH flushes then overshoot into SOL because beta is 1.5×. US CPI still matters through the risk channel during 12:30 to 14:00 UTC.
Black out known funding windows if open interest is crowded. If BTC or ETH is already open, SOL is the same book at higher beta. Correlation Guard should cap the crypto stack so 22 lots of SOL are not sitting on top of 1.11 BTC.
SOL session gates: US hours, EMA pullback, $5 handle
Trade 13:00 to 21:00 UTC. Require spread under 3.5 ticks, BTC not fighting you, and a $3.50 to $6.00 stop beyond a $5 handle. Reject weekend 15-lot tickets and reject leading SOL before BTC confirms.
Park those gates on the AI Pre-Trade Checklist. SOLUSD pays H1 pullbacks in US hours. It bills traders who treat a 1.5× alt as a $1.50 scalp through Saturday.
