Strike one is a flatten, not a warning email
The primary trap is the built-in shield. At a 1% setting on $100K, open loss near $1,000 closes the positions. At 2%, the line is $2,000. The close is a soft strike. Two or three strikes terminate the funded account. Traders who only watch the 4% daily loss, $4,000, never see the strike until the account is already on a short count. The shield is doing what it was built to do. The surprise is treating it as a courtesy close.
A 1.45 lot gold position with a 70-pip stop is about $1,015. That single planned loss can be strike one at a 1% cap, with the daily line barely touched. Manual Trade Guard should have attached a smaller stop at the MT5 fill, near $500. If your program shows a 2% cap, $1,015 still fits, and the second correlated ticket is the one that does not.
A +$2,600 gold float at 00:00
Daily loss uses the higher of day-start balance or equity at midnight server time. Suppose the closed balance is $100,000 and XAUUSD is +$2,600 at 00:00. The snapshot base is $102,600. Four percent of that base is about $4,104 of room under $102,600, near $98,496. Gold gives back $3,200 after London opens. Equity is $99,400. You are still above an Unlimited static floor at $92,000, and you have already spent most of the new day.
Booking $2,000 of that runner before midnight would have raised closed balance and left a cleaner 4% hole under the new balance, instead of letting the pullback spend Tuesday. Bot Control should partial large winners 20 to 40 minutes before 00:00. Weekend holds are allowed, so Friday night is the same snapshot with a Sunday gap added on top.
Static 8%, static 10%, and a 6% trail
Unlimited's maximum loss is a static 8% from the start, $92,000 on $100K. Elite's is a static 10%, $90,000. Rapid trails 6%. A midnight rebase hurts all three on the daily rule. Rapid adds a second moving floor: peak equity walks the 6% trail up, so a giveback that Unlimited would ignore can touch Rapid's maximum. Buying Rapid to "finish in one phase" and then holding overnight winners is how both traps fire in the same week.
There is no minimum trading-day rule to blame. News on funded accounts is restricted in a 5-minute window around red-folder events unless the add-on is active, and a stop filled there still counts toward the 4% day. Equity Guard at $3,250 handles the daily cash line. A separate open-loss alarm near $900 tells you to exit before a 1% shield writes the strike.
Three numbers to read at 23:40 server time
Read open profit, open loss, and distance to the 4% line. If open profit is large relative to $4,000, partial it. If open loss is approaching $1,000, the shield is closer than the daily line, so close or tighten before the firm does. If you are on Rapid, also read distance to the trailing 6% floor, because the daily alarm will not mention it. EAs are allowed. An EA that refuses to partial before midnight is an EA that volunteers for the rebase.
Start a free Venasri account and set the reset clock to Blue Guardian's 00:00, GMT+2 or GMT+3, rather than a New York futures close. The 85% bi-weekly split, beginning 14 days after the first funded trade, is collected by accounts that still exist on day 14. A shield strike and a midnight rebase are the two reasons profitable Blue Guardian traders receive a breach notice anyway.
