Skip the opening whip, then mark 60 to 100 points
The first index candle of the New York cash session regularly runs both sides of the overnight range. Entering during that print means the 60-point stop is a guess and the 100-point stop is a donation. Wait until 13:30 UTC has closed, then place the stop beyond the candle that actually printed. If that candle is already 140 points, the session is a skip, not a reason to widen into the 4% line.
Where the MT5 symbol pays $1 per index point, a 0.50% ticket on $100K is $500. That is 8.33 lots at a 60-point stop, 6.25 lots at 80 points, and 5.00 lots at 100 points. Round down. A 5.00 lot NAS100 idea with an 80-point stop risks $400, inside both the $4,000 day and a $1,000 shield. Doubling it because the open "feels clean" is $800, still legal on the day, and close to a 1% strike if the float tags $1,000.
Hyperactivity, the shield, and a second index
NAS100 and US30 are the same risk bucket at 13:30 UTC. Two 5-lot tickets with 80-point stops are $800 of planned risk if both stop, and they can be open together. Guardian Shield looks at floating loss. A 1% cap on $100K is $1,000. Correlated index exposure is how a legal single ticket becomes a strike without a revenge story. One index, one idea, until the first stop is done.
Standard MT5 anti-hyperactivity limits are the other ceiling. Scalping the open by rewriting the stop every few seconds spends the session on modifications and can leave the real stop behind the wick. Manual Trade Guard should attach the structural stop once, then move it at the partial. Bot Control should refuse a new index entry until the 13:30 UTC candle has closed.
Weekend index holds still hit the 4% day
Overnight and weekend holding is allowed on Blue Guardian. That is permission, not a cushion. A Sunday gap on NAS100 changes equity immediately, and the daily loss is 4% from the higher of day-start balance or equity at 00:00. A Friday runner that is up $2,400 at the snapshot rebases Monday. Give that float back at the reopen and a large piece of the new $4,000 day is already gone while the closed balance still looks fine.
Funded news windows are a 5-minute band around red-folder events unless the news add-on is active. CPI and FOMC sit inside the US index day. A stop filled in that band still counts. Equity Guard at $3,250 flattens the cash session before $4,000. The shield, at $1,000 or $2,000 of open loss, remains the tighter intraday exit on a funded book.
An 8% Phase 1 does not require the open
Phase 1 is 8%, $8,000 on $100K, then Phase 2 is 4%, $4,000. There is no minimum trading-day requirement, so passing does not depend on trading every cash open. Ten to sixteen trades at $500 risk can build the $8,000 if the average winner is larger than the average loser. Forcing the whip candle is how the $8,000 target becomes a shield strike on day two.
Unlimited's maximum is a static 8%, the same $8,000 as the Phase 1 target, so a full giveback of the target ties the max-loss floor. Elite's static 10% is $10,000. Rapid trails 6%. Open a free Venasri account and save the lot for an 80-point stop before the cash open, not during it. The 85% split is a funded outcome. It is unavailable after two or three shield strikes.
