The top of the cap is not the half-percent unit
Gold pays $10 per 0.10 move on 1.00 lot. A 50-pip stop at 0.80 lots is $400. At 1.45 lots it is $725. A 70-pip stop moves those to $560 and $1,015. The half-percent unit of $500 is about 1.00 lot at 50 pips, or about 0.71 lots at 70 pips. Trading the ceiling every time means every idea is already 1 percent. Two of them are $2,030 at the 70-pip top, and a third is most of a 1-step $3,000 day.
The 1-step day changes the meaning of $1,015. It is a fifth of the 2-step day and a third of the 1-step day. A wick that doubles the 70-pip distance at 1.45 lots is about $2,030. The 2-step account continues. The 1-step account is in a meeting with the rest of its morning. Bot controls should cap lots at 1.45 and cap concurrent gold at one position.
A $35 range is survivable only with the stop actually on
Three hundred fifty pips is a $35 move. At 1.45 lots, riding it without a stop is about $5,075, a dollar past the 2-step day. At 0.80 lots it is about $2,800, inside the 2-step day and almost the entire 1-step day. The lot cap is not a substitute for the stop. COMEX's open near 12:20 UTC, and the US data window near 12:30 UTC, are where the planned 70 pips become 120. At 1.45 lots that extra 50 pips is about $725 on top of the plan.
Funded accounts owe a 2-minute blackout unless the add-on is on. Gold is the position traders leave on because the chart looks ready. Flat is the strategy into CPI. A winner that runs $4,500 can also trip a 40 percent Instant-account score on a $10,000 cycle. Open a Venasri account and put the blackout on the same preset as the lot cap.
A gold float is the usual way the floor locks by accident
An evaluation locks at $95,000 once profit is up $5,000. A 1.45 lot gold trade that runs about 345 pips in your favor is roughly that $5,000, because 1.45 times 345 times $10 is about $5,000. You can lock the floor with one open winner and then watch it come back. From a $105,000 mark the new floor is $10,000 lower. The come-back is the account. Take partials before the float is the only thing standing between you and the lock.
At 00:00 the higher of balance or equity becomes the next anchor. A $3,000 gold float held through server midnight raises the next day. On a 1-step book that float is the entire $3,000 day if it disappears after the snapshot. Close it or cut it. Weekend holding, if your tier even allows it, multiplies the same float by a Sunday gap.
Match the flatten to the day, then keep the lot inside it
Equity Guard at $4,250 covers a 2-step book that took a bad 1.45 lot fill and still has room. At $2,250 it covers a 1-step book that cannot afford the same fill twice. If you only remember one gold rule, remember that the second position is how a legal first stop becomes an illegal day. The guard is the backstop for the fill that runs through 70 pips. It is not a reason to skip the 70 pips.
Stay under 2,000 server requests while you manage the partials. Four targets on one gold trade are nothing. A trail that edits every tick through the COMEX open is a request problem and a slippage problem. Place the stop, take the partials, and be done. The $10,000 Phase 1 target is a series of those trades, with the lock respected at the midpoint.
