A one-day pass is legal and usually oversized
Expert allows a single-day pass and has no consistency cap. The failure mode is maximum contracts on the New York open, which can print the whole $3,000 trail on the first candle. Twelve results at $500 of profit would equal the $6,000 target if nothing lost. Ten to sixteen trades is the same idea with room for a mix of outcomes. A single 12R shot is the opposite idea, and it is how accounts die while still calling themselves disciplined.
Starter cannot lean on one day anyway. It wants five winning days and a 40% cap, and 40% of $6,000 is $2,400. Create a Venasri login and write the plan next to the trade count before the open.
Pass in micros unless the stop is genuinely short
One NQ point is $20. A 25-point stop on one contract is $500, and 25 points is a tight stop at 9:30 AM ET. Five MNQ with a 50-point stop are also $500, because micros are $2 per point, and the stop can sit behind the opening sweep. ES at $50 per point makes one contract a $500 risk at only 10 points, which the open will violate. MES at $5 per point is the pass vehicle.
Bot controls should cap contracts from dollar risk, not from the buying power the platform displays. Buying power is how the one-day attempt gets brave.
The trail, the flat, and the message limit stay in the pass
The end-of-day trail is $3,000 on $100,000, about $1,500 to $2,000 on $50,000, and $4,500 on $150,000. It locks in the way the contract describes once the floor can sit $100 above the start. You must be flat before Friday CME close. Automation must stay inside CME messaging limits on Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView, or Quantower. None of those relax because you are close to $6,000.
Evaluation news is allowed. Funded Starter and sim-funded tiers restrict Tier-1 releases. Do not build a pass method you cannot legally continue after the payout clock starts. Expert payouts are every 14 days. Starter waits on five winning days. The first $10,000 of funded profit pays at 100%, then 90%.
Leave $750 and do not spend it on the open
Equity Guard belongs near $2,250 on $100,000. If the guard fires, the pass attempt is over for that session. Re-entering to get the $6,000 back is the revenge trade with a target attached. On a $2,000 trail, the equivalent flatten is near $1,500 or lower. A 5% FX guard of $4,250 is above this trail and will never help.
The mark that matters is the end of the session, around 4:10 PM ET or 5:00 PM ET. A trade that is green at lunch and red at the mark is a red day. Close it while it is still a small idea. The target will be there after the bell only if the trail is.
