0.65% survives seven mistakes only because the day is 5%
On $100,000, 0.35% is $350 and 0.65% is $650. Seven times $650 is $4,550, inside the fixed $5,000 and too close for dirty fills. Seven times $350 is $2,450, which leaves a wide pocket and a slower path to the $8,000 Phase 1 target. A $1,000 stop is 1%. Five of those are the entire day. The challenge will not expand the day to forgive the sixth.
Phase 2 is $5,000, the same cash figure as the day. If you used 1% to rush Phase 1, you arrive at a target that one bad session can erase. Stay in the band for both steps. Bot controls should reject a ticket above $650 of stop risk on this balance, including the add-on you place because the first fill was better than expected.
The lot is whatever the stop distance says it is
Majors pay about $10 per pip at 1.00 lot. A 20-pip stop at $500 is 2.50 lots. At $350 it is 1.75 lots. At $650 it is 3.25 lots. Gold pays $10 per 0.10. A 50-pip stop is 0.70 lots at $350, 1.00 lot at $500, and 1.30 lots at $650. A 70-pip gold stop at 1.45 lots is about $1,015, which has left the band even though 1.45 lots appears in gold notes as a ceiling. The ceiling without the stop is not a risk plan.
The firm allows weekend holds, so a lot that is fine as a day trade can be too large as a Sunday exposure. A 100-pip gold gap at 1.00 lot is $1,000. If that lot was your $500 day-trade unit on a 50-pip stop, the gap is twice the plan. Create a Venasri login and save two caps if you hold: one for the stop you click, and one for the gap you cannot click.
The $500,000 challenge uses the same percents and different dollars
OANDA Prop Trader challenges run up to $500,000. Half a percent of that is $2,500, not $500. The fixed day is $25,000, not $5,000. A trader who copies a $100,000 lot onto the large account is risking 0.10%, which is survivable and slow. A trader who copies the large-account lot onto $100,000 is risking 2.5% and will meet the day in two losses. The screen will not translate this for you.
Both the one-step and the two-step paths use a 5% day and a 10% maximum, so the band does not loosen because you picked the shorter evaluation. After you are a funded Signal Provider the maximum trails, and a lot that felt small against a static $90,000 floor can feel very different against a floor that has risen. Recalculate when the contract changes. Do not wait for the trail to demonstrate the math.
The flatten sits inside the seventh stop, not on the official line
Equity Guard should flatten a $100,000 challenge near $4,250, which is before seven dirty $650 fills can print $5,000. If you live at the $350 end of the band, keep the same flatten. A news slip can turn one small idea into something the band did not describe. The guard is there for the fill you did not order, not only for the seventh orderly stop.
Institutional modification limits still apply if you adjust the lot by constantly editing the stop. Put the correct distance on once. The reset at 17:00 New York starts a new fixed slice, and open risk carried through it is the first debit of that slice. A bi-weekly payout at 80% to 90% does not change any of these dollars. It only tells you when profit that survived them can leave.
