Classic and Boost on OANDA Global Markets MT5
OANDA Prop Trader (New York / London / Malta, founded 2024) sells Classic 2-Step and Boost from $5K to $500K, a single-ticket size most Dubai props still do not match. Classic daily loss is 5% of initial, max loss is static 10% during both challenge phases, Phase 1 is 8% ($8,000 on $100K), Phase 2 is 5% ($5,000), minimum trading days are 3, and there is no consistency rule on Classic. Fee on $100K is $499. Split is 80% to 90%. Payouts are bi-weekly through OANDA institutional treasury. Platform is MT5 only.
The funded trailing switch is the actual OANDA rule
Challenge max loss is static 10% of initial ($90,000 on $100K). Funded Signal Provider max loss is trailing 10%. If you grow the funded account to $108,000, a 10% trail sits near $97,200, not $90,000. A 4% pullback that was legal on Classic Phase 2 is now a funded breach. Daily loss stays 5% and, on funded, uses a trailing end-of-day flavour. Reset is 17:00 New York time, which OANDA maps to 00:00 on the MT5 server.
Set Venasri Equity Guard to 4.25% of initial during Classic phases. The day the Signal Provider account goes live, switch the max-loss lock from a static 9.0% of initial to a 9.0% trail of closed peak, with a hard floor never below $91,000 on $100K until you understand the new line. That one toggle is the OANDA blueprint.
17:00 New York, 2-minute news, $500K size
Do not mix OANDA's 17:00 New York reset with FTMO's 00:00 Prague clock. A London-afternoon gold hold that looks like "still today" in Europe is already tomorrow on OANDA MT5. The 2-minute news rule is an open-or-close ban, not a hold ban: a position opened 10 minutes before NFP can stay, but you cannot flatten it 90 seconds after the print without a violation. Weekend holds are legal, which is why Sunday gaps have to hit Equity Guard, not your reactions.
24/7 MT5 Bot Control should refuse new entries and manual closes inside the 2-minute window, and should flatten 20 minutes before 17:00 New York if floating profit exceeds 1.5% of initial, so the EOD trail on funded cannot reprice while you sleep in Asia. The $500K Classic ticket uses the same 5% / 10% percents; only the dollars scale ($25,000 daily, $50,000 max on $500K).
Signal-provider EAs on the OANDA MT5 bridge
Connect through the ZeroMQ MT5 Bridge to the OANDA MT5 server. Keep modifications stepped so you stay inside OANDA institutional order-modification limits. A tick-scalping EA that hammers replace-orders is the fastest way to look like the arbitrage OANDA already bans. Manual Trade Guard on discretionary tickets still attaches SL/TP in milliseconds, which the Signal Provider desk expects of a real strategy, not a naked market click.
Pre-build two Venasri profiles: "OANDA Classic static" and "OANDA Signal Provider trail". When the funded email lands, switch profiles before the first live trade. Leaving the static 9.0% lock on a trailing account is how traders think they have $10,000 of air when the trail has already eaten $6,000 of it.
