The open is the middle of the OANDA day, not the start
13:30 UTC is 9:30 in the morning in New York. The firm's day rolled at 17:00 New York the previous evening. Asia and London have already been trading inside the fixed $5,000. If those sessions lost $2,000, the cash open has $3,000 left, not a fresh budget and not a mood. If they made $2,000, the allowance still did not grow. You cannot spend the morning's profit as extra index risk.
The first cash candle is also a bad place to discover this. NAS100 often whips through a tight stop before it picks a direction. Wait until that candle settles, then use a structural stop of about 60 to 100 points. Sign up on Venasri with the day's remaining allowance visible before the bell, not the original $5,000 as if nothing has happened since 17:00.
5.50 lots at 90 points is $495, and both indexes are one bet
A standard index CFD is about $1 per point. A $500 unit divided by 100 points is 5.00 lots. Divided by 60 points it is about 8.33 lots. Divided by 90 points it is about 5.56 lots, so 5.50 lots at 90 points is roughly $495. US30 uses the same point value and usually needs the wider end of that stop range because its ordinary day is larger. A 40-point US30 stop copied from a NAS100 scalp is not discipline. It is the wrong instrument.
Holding both at a full unit into the same open is two $500 ideas that move together. That is $1,000 of one equity bet, a fifth of the fixed day, before the whip has even settled. Bot controls should add NAS100 and US30 risk before allowing the second ticket, and they should refuse the trade if London has already used the part of the day this open was supposed to have.
The whip is where modification limits and tilt meet
Scalpers want to adjust. The cash open is the worst minute to do it on every tick. Institutional modification limits do not come with a counter on the chart. A stream of stop changes through the first five minutes can fail the spirit of the advisor rule even if you are clicking, and it will not make a 30-point stop survive a 90-point candle. Wait. Then place one stop.
If a high-impact print is stacked on the open, the two minutes before it and the two minutes after it also bar new opens and closes. Be flat or already stopped. A fill through a 100-point stop still counts against whatever remains of the fixed day. One Phase and Classic share that day. There is no tighter index rule on one brochure and a looser one on the other. There is only the allowance you have not yet used.
Leave if the open costs two units, and be flat long before the next 17:00
Equity Guard should flatten the $100,000 challenge near $4,250, but an index scalp needs a shorter leash. Two full units, about $1,000, is enough information that the open is not your day. Doubling NAS100 to get it back is the revenge pattern with a futures ticker on it. Phase 2 is only $5,000 of profit. Donating $1,500 to the bell does not make that target closer.
These are not positions to discover at the next reset. The 17:00 New York boundary will start a new fixed slice, and a runner you meant to scalp becomes the first risk of that slice, gap included, because weekend and overnight holds are allowed. Flatten day trades before the cash session is a memory. The funded trail, once you are a Signal Provider, will also notice a high you held by accident. The open is a place to take a planned $495 idea. It is not a place to renegotiate the day.
