Why the Tiltmeter still earns a $169 annual invoice
Edgewonk popularized structured emotional tagging. Edge Finder on historical tags, a yearly billing model, and a web Tiltmeter give discretionary traders a language for tilt that most free diaries never reach. If you will sit down after London and score the session, Edgewonk is still one of the best notebooks in the category.
The product asks for that sitting-down. Trades are typed or imported. There is no real-time broker socket, no push on a live stop drag, and no way to close MT5 from the journal. Annual-only billing also means there is no $0 sandbox to test a live guard.
Self-grading cannot interrupt a 5-minute revenge cluster
The failure mode is timing. After two losers on GBPAUD a trader who is on tilt does not open Edgewonk. They click a third ticket, maybe widen the stop, maybe double the lot. Edgewonk will let them tag that as revenge on Sunday. The funded account may already be failed.
Live detectors instead of Friday night scores
Venasri’s 5-pattern monitor scores the same sins without a form: revenge (3 trades / 5 minutes after a loss), stop-loss widening, 3 SL/TP edits in 60 seconds, adding to losers, and lots above 2x average. Manual Trade Guard still attaches a stop if you clicked naked. Equity Guard still flattens on a 3-second loop at the buffer you set in Venasri Risk Management.
Pair the notebook with the officer
Edgewonk as the notebook, Venasri as the officer, is a clean pairing. Canceling Edgewonk is optional. Canceling live flatten because you already pay $169 for tags is how challenges die in month two.
If you will never connect MT5, Edgewonk remains the better sole tool. If you trade funded gold from a phone, the alternative you needed was never another tag field.
