Zero daily on Expert is not permission to size like a 5% CFD desk
MyFundedFutures (MFFU) Expert uses end-of-day trailing drawdown of $3,000 on $100K (about 3%), locking near starting balance plus $100, with no daily loss limit and a 6% target that can be printed in one trading day. Starter Plan adds a 3% daily-style figure and a 40% consistency rule with five winning days for payouts. FTMO 2-Step is 5% daily, 10% static, 10% then 5%, four days. Traders hear "no daily on Expert" and open max NQ into the NY cash open. The EOD trail still closes the account if you finish the session $3,000 below the trail even if you were green at noon.
Fee is about $150 on $100K versus FTMO's $540. Platforms are Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TradingView, and Quantower. Session close is 4:10 PM ET / 5:00 PM ET. Weekend futures holds are forbidden. FTMO Swing weekend gold holds are irrelevant here. If you need MT5, leave. If you need a one-day futures pass with no 50% consistency haircut (Topstep) and no 30% windfall (Apex), Expert is the SKU those two Chicago/Austin desks did not write.
Starter 40% consistency versus Expert 1-day, versus FTMO none
Starter pays every 14 days after five winning days with 40% consistency. Expert pays every 14 days with no consistency cap. Both pay 100% of the first $10,000 then 90%. FTMO pays 80% to 90% bi-weekly from day 14 on CFDs. News is allowed on MFFU evaluation; funded Starter / sim-funded tiers add Tier-1 restrictions. EAs are allowed inside CME modification rate limits. FTMO's 2,000-request cap is a different counter on a different venue.
The product fork inside MFFU is larger than the fork versus FTMO. Expert is a one-day, no-daily, no-consistency EOD trail. Starter is a slower, daily-aware, 40% consistency cousin of Topstep. Comparing "MFFU" as one blob to FTMO is how people buy Starter and trade like Expert, or buy Expert and hold like FTMO Swing into Friday Globex close.
Who should attempt a one-day pass, and who should not
Pick MFFU Expert if you already flatten before Globex rollover, you can print $6,000 on $100K without finishing $3,000 off the EOD trail, and you want no consistency math. Pick MFFU Starter if you want a daily governor. Pick FTMO if your market is FX/metals CFD and you need a static $10,000 or Swing rights. Do not pick Expert to revenge a blown FTMO gold account with 12 NQ contracts. The trail is $3,000, not $10,000, and it is end-of-day trailing, not static.
Seacrest / Dallas 2023 versus Prague 2015 is again a category gap. One-day pass rate marketing is true only for people who already treat EOD trail as a session budget. For everyone else, the missing daily on Expert is a loaded gun, not a feature.
Session budget on Expert, 4.25% on FTMO, no shared tape
In Venasri Equity Guard give FTMO 4.25% of Prague day-start. Give MFFU Expert a session loss cap you invent (for example $1,800) even though the firm does not, plus a 4:00 PM ET flatten so the EOD trail cannot be decided on the last Globex tick. Give Starter a 2.25% daily flatten if you bought that SKU instead. Never copy gold lots onto NQ micros.
Venasri's free prop firm risk guard natively flattens the FTMO MT5 account. Expert still needs that self-imposed session cap because "no daily" is how one NY candle spends the $3,000 trail. Prefer Expert for a one-day futures pass. Prefer FTMO for CFD Swing. Isolation is the protection story on this pair.
