The test trails at the close, and PRO trails while you watch
Take Profit Trader's test uses an end-of-day trailing maximum, with a hard daily loss of $2,200 on $100,000 and a 3% maximum near $3,000. The PRO funded account switches that trail to intraday until you build the buffer. A pullback that would have been harmless at the cash close during the test can end the funded account at 11:40. FTMO's 2-step maximum is a static $10,000 from the initial balance. It does not trail your open high.
The futures book must be flat by 5:00 PM ET. There is no Friday swing into Sunday. FTMO Standard is also flat into the weekend, on a different clock, and FTMO Swing can hold. If you learned to leave a runner at FTMO Swing, that habit is a rule break on the PRO account before the trail even moves.
A $6,000 target and a 50% day during the five-day test
The test target is 6%, or $6,000, across five minimum days. The largest day cannot exceed 50% of the profit during that test, so $3,000 is the practical ceiling if you are aiming at $6,000. Once you are on PRO, that consistency rule drops away. FTMO asks for $10,000 and then $5,000 across four minimum days, with no hard best-day formula, and with a review that still flags a single gambling ticket.
PRO pays 80% and PRO+ pays 90%, with daily withdrawals from day one after the buffer is cleared. FTMO pays 80% to 90% starting 14 days after the first funded trade. The $330 fee gap is obvious. The buffer you must clear before the daily withdrawal is the part people forget when they compare $210 with $540. Open a Venasri account and write the buffer next to the fee.
Four $500 NQ losses are almost the whole day
A 25-point stop on one NQ contract risks $500. Four full losses are $2,000, and the $2,200 daily line has $200 left for slippage. A fifth idea is the breach. On FTMO, four $500 losses are $2,000 of a $5,000 day. The futures lot that feels small because it is one contract is a fifth of the Take Profit Trader day and a tenth of the FTMO day.
PRO accounts cannot trade one minute before or after FOMC, NFP, and CPI. Semi-automated tools are allowed. Unattended high-frequency bots are not. Platforms are NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView, and Rithmic, not the FTMO MT5 stack. Bot controls attach to the FTMO MT5 login. They do not place the NQ order. Use them so the FX book does not inherit a futures tilt after the 5:00 PM flatten.
Flatten the futures day near $1,800
Equity Guard on Take Profit Trader should flatten near $1,800 of daily loss, inside the $2,200 hard line, and you should also watch the intraday trail once the account is PRO. A guard that only knows the test's end-of-day trail will sit quiet while the funded trail ratchets up on an open high. FTMO's 2-step guard belongs near $4,250 and does not need an intraday ratchet.
If the test day approaches $2,500 of profit against a $6,000 target, stop. You are close to the 50% consistency ceiling, and one more push can force extra profit before a pass. PRO removes that ceiling and replaces it with the intraday trail. Passing is not the moment to size up. It is the moment the trail starts following the high.
