Static floor: FTMO 10% on $100,000 stays $90,000
StaticFloor = 100000 x (1 - 0.10) = $90,000 for the life of the evaluation, ignoring later profits. You can close +$12,000, pull back $11,000, and still be legal at $101,000. Daily 5% still binds separately on the 00:00 convention. Static is simpler to defend: one max line, one daily line.
FundedNext 1-Step 6% static max on $100,000 is $94,000. That is not "like FTMO but spicier"; it is $6,000 of total room versus $10,000. At 0.50% you have 12 full stops to max, not 20. Recalculate capacity before you copy a 0.50% FTMO template onto Stellar 1-Step.
Trailing floor: HighWaterMark x (1 - k)
If max loss is 6% trailing and HWM prints $104,000 (closed or EOD depending on the firm), TrailingFloor = 104000 x 0.94 = $97,760. A retreat to $97,750 breaches despite +$2,250 versus $100,000 start. Some futures combines trail only until the HWM has advanced by the trailing amount (then freeze). Others trail forever on EOD equity. Apex and Topstep language differs; never assume FTMO static when the dashboard says trailing.
Worked pain: start $50,000, 4% trailing. After a +$1,800 day, HWM $51,800, floor $49,728. You have $2,072 of room from the new peak, not $2,000 from start. One 80-point NAS loser at oversized lots can spend it.
How Venasri should lock each type
Static: Equity Guard at Initial x (1 - (Max% - 0.75%)), so FTMO $90,750 remaining versus $90,000. Trailing: track HWM every 3 seconds, recompute floor, lock 0.75% of current HWM above it. Venasri Risk Management & Equity Guard must switch mode when you change firms. A static lock on a trailing Combine is too loose at the new peak and too tight versus start after a losing week.
Venasri Performance Analytics should plot distance-to-trailing-floor as a time series. If you live inside 1.2% of a trailing line, cut size; you are no longer trading a strategy, you are hugging a tripwire.
Banking partials to freeze a trail
On firms that trail only unrealized HWM, banking TP1 into closed balance can either help or hurt depending on whether HWM includes float. On EOD trailing, close before the snapshot if you do not want tonight's peak to raise tomorrow's floor. 24/7 MT5 Bot Control plus start free on Venasri let you flatten from Telegram at 23:50 server rather than discovering the new floor at 00:01. Pair with the daily drawdown calculator because daily and max formulas are independent traps.
