One oil thesis, three tickets, one daily limit
2.47 lots lose about $16.50 per pip. A 60-pip EIA candle is $1,000. Add a USOIL loser and a USDCAD loser and the 5% floor is a cluster, not a single stop. Default CADJPY to 2.47 lots only when oil is flat.
connect your MT5 account to Venasri and let Correlation Guard see energy + CAD + yen. Equity Guard at 3.5% is mandatory on OPEC weeks because Sunday gaps ignore 30-pip stops.
Weekend OPEC and Wednesday EIA
OPEC+ statements often land when futures are closed. CADJPY Sunday open can gap 80 pips. If weekend holding is banned, flatten Friday before rollover. If allowed, 1.20 lots max with a 60-pip stop you can afford.
EIA 14:30 UTC Wednesday: no new 2.47 lots into the number. After a closed M15, trade the petro trend if that is the plan, at 1.20 lots. First-tick fades are how oil books donate days to the firm.
Share the energy budget
USOIL, UKOIL, USDCAD, CADJPY = one bucket at 0.50%. Put 6.70 and 30 pips in the Half-Kelly Lot Size Calculator & Equity Guard for this cross, separate from oil's $10 per 0.01 barrel.
Swing 60 to 100 pips at ~1.40 lots when the oil trend is multi-week and BoC/BoJ are quiet. That is the actual petro-carry product. Intraday 25 to 40 at 2.47 when oil is already mid-range is just noise.
CADJPY checklist: oil flat or agreed, EIA/OPEC clear, NY or Tokyo
Require unused energy budget or explicit single-ticket oil view, calendar clear, spread under 1.4, 30-pip-class stop, 108/110 handles mapped. Reject triple stacking.
Keep it on the Pre-Trade AI Confluence Checklist. Manual Trade Guard attaches 30 pips so an EIA print cannot leave 4.95 lots naked for thirty seconds.
