Europe is the only session that regularly completes the idea
Zurich and Frankfurt from 06:30 to 11:00 UTC are prime. That is when both CHF and the European yen-cross book have depth. Tokyo can start a yen move, and New York can splash risk into the cross, but the structural close often belongs to the European morning.
A 95 to 150 pip ATR looks like a Dragon cousin. It is not a 24-hour scalp market. Mark 170.00, 171.00, and 172.00 in Asia. Trade the European continuation if the SNB-versus-BoJ regime is still intact.
Safe-haven cross, yen pip, wide spread
Pip value is about $6.70. A 1.2 pip spread is $8.04, already loud on a 15-pip scalp. Intraday belongs at 30 to 50 pips. Swing belongs at 75 to 125 pips. Scalps at 15 to 25 pips need a truly open 06:30 UTC book.
If you start free on Venasri, 4.25 lots at a 35-pip stop is 1% of $100,000. Evaluation default is 2.12 lots. Venasri Equity Guard should flatten on SNB or BoJ days even if the rest of the G10 looks calm, because this pair is the policy spread.
The danger is divergence, not a single NFP print
SNB quarterly assessments and BoJ meetings are the scheduled shocks. When those paths diverge, CHFJPY can trend 300 to 600 pips over weeks and still throw 80-pip policy candles. US NFP matters less than on USDJPY, yet a global risk shock can still hitch a ride.
Black out SNB and BoJ. If you already hold USDCHF or USDJPY, you own pieces of this cross. Correlation Guard should cap the stacked safe-haven book so one 0.50% line does not become three.
CHFJPY session gates for regime days
Trade 06:30 to 11:00 UTC. Require spread under 1.8 pips, H4 regime still in force, and a stop beyond the 00 or 50 handle plus 1.5× ATR. Reject policy mornings and reject New York revenge trades against a completed European expansion.
Load those gates on the AI Pre-Trade Checklist. CHFJPY pays the slow policy trend. It bills traders who scalp two safe havens with a 15-pip stop because the calendar was empty.
