100,000 francs versus yen, $6.70 a pip
1.00 lot is 100,000 CHF. Yen conversion ~$6.70 per 0.01. Spread 0.8 to 1.8 pips matches GBPJPY friction with slightly less ATR (95 to 150 vs 130 to 220). The 1% reference therefore uses a 35-pip stop and 4.25 lots, same lot count as EURJPY, different story.
Handles 170.00, 171.00, 172.00 are the secular-trend stairs. European morning 06:30 to 11:00 UTC is the book. Tokyo still moves the yen leg, but SNB is a Zurich hour event.
SNB versus BoJ, not a USD story
This cross is relative haven policy. US NFP will still splash it, but the clean trades are SNB assessment versus BoJ YCC/intervention path. Dual safe-haven bids (geopolitics) can produce a 100-pip range that looks like a trend and is just both bids hitting at staggered times.
connect your MT5 account to Venasri and black out SNB and BoJ independently. "Both are havens so they cancel" is how 4.25 lots meet a 70-pip one-sided SNB cut.
4.25 lots at 35 pips, no extra USDCHF plus USDJPY
lots = 1000 / (35 × 6.70) = 4.26, stored as 4.25 at 1%, 2.12 at 0.50%. Scalp 15 to 25, intraday 30 to 50, swing 75 to 125. Set 6.70 in the Half-Kelly Lot Size Calculator & Equity Guard.
Long USDCHF plus short USDJPY already ish-owns this cross. Adding 4.25 lots of CHFJPY is a third haven ticket. Haircut to one expression.
European morning secular trend, not NFP lottery
Trade 06:30 to 11:00 UTC along the multi-month policy regime at 00/50 handles, spread under 1.8, 35-pip-class stop. Skip dual-haven panic hours at full size.
Confirm SNB/BoJ path, unused USDCHF/USDJPY budget, and session on the Pre-Trade AI Confluence Checklist. CHFJPY pays as a swing policy pair. It is a poor 10-pip prop grind.
