Euro notional, Aussie quote, $6.65 pips
1.00 lot is 100,000 EUR. A 0.0001 AUD pip converts near $6.65 at typical Aussie dollar rates. Spread 0.7 to 1.6 pips. ATR 95 to 145 pips is why the stop reference is 35 pips, not EURUSD's 20. Handles 1.6200, 1.6300, 1.6400 are the risk-off euro-versus-commodity stairs.
If your calculator still says $10, 4.29 lots looks undersized next to EURUSD 5.00, so people bump to 5 lots and then eat 35 pips of commodity noise at the wrong pip value.
Sydney-London transition and the 100-pip European push
The pair often starts in Sydney, then Frankfurt hijacks it into a 100-pip one-way when euro yields rise and commodities fall (or the reverse). That European window is the product. US afternoon is leftover, not the edge.
RBA 03:30 UTC and Eurozone CPI/PMI are the scheduled gaps. connect your MT5 account to Venasri and do not leave a 4.29 lot Sydney leftover through RBA expecting Frankfurt to "smooth it out."
4.29 lots at 35 pips
lots = 1000 / (stop pips × 6.65). At 35 pips: 1000 / 232.75 = 4.30, stored as 4.29 at 1%, 2.14 at 0.50%. Scalp 15 to 24, intraday 30 to 48, swing 75 to 120. Enter 6.65 in the Half-Kelly Lot Size Calculator & Equity Guard.
If EURUSD and AUDUSD are both open, you already own this cross. Adding 4.29 lots is a third Europe-versus-Australia ticket. Haircut.
Trade European hours for the 100-pip trend, not USD CPI
Best: 06:00 to 11:30 UTC along H4 when commodities disagree with euro, 00/50 handles, spread under 1.6, 35-pip-class stop. Skip RBA leftovers. Do not use it as an NFP pair; USD is not the story.
