The overlap is when euro cash and oil share a tape
From 12:00 to 16:00 UTC, London is still in and New York oil is open. That is when EURCAD prints most of its 75 to 115 pip ATR. European morning can start the euro half. The defining Canadian and crude prints wait for North America.
Asia is a map. Mark 1.4800, 1.4900, and 1.5000. Trade them in the overlap if euro yields and WTI still disagree in your favor. Fading the overlap because Europe already moved 30 pips is how you fade the oil leg.
Oil-sensitive pip math near $7.35
Pip value sits near $7.35, similar to USDCAD. A 1.0 pip spread is $7.35, which is loud on a 12-pip scalp. Intraday belongs at 25 to 40 pips. Swing belongs at 65 to 100 pips. Scalps at 12 to 20 pips need a tight 0.7 pip quote and a quiet oil tape.
If you start free on Venasri, 4.53 lots at a 30-pip stop is 1% of $100,000. Evaluation default is 2.26 lots. Venasri Equity Guard should flatten when EIA and an ECB leftover hit the same ticket.
ECB, BoC, and the crude inventory that is not an FX folder on some calendars
ECB reprices the euro half. BoC reprices the Canadian half. EIA crude at 14:30 UTC reprices the oil half. EURCAD is all three. A calendar that only highlights ECB will let the EIA candle through your 25-pip stop.
Black out ECB, BoC, and EIA. If you already hold EURUSD and USOIL, you may already own this cross. Correlation Guard should cap the synthetic EURCAD so 0.50% does not become 1.50%.
EURCAD session gates: yields versus oil
Trade 12:00 to 16:00 UTC. Require spread under 1.5 pips, WTI not fighting the Canadian leg, and a stop beyond the 00 or 50 figure. Reject 14:30 UTC EIA minutes and reject stacking on a full USDCAD or USOIL book.
Tick those gates on the AI Pre-Trade Checklist. EURCAD pays opposite yield-and-oil days. It bills traders who read only the euro RSI.
