$10 pip, smaller ATR, 5.55 lots at 18 pips
One lot is 100,000 NZD. Pip value is $10.00. An 18-pip stop is $180 per lot. $1,000 / $180 ≈ 5.56, rounded to 5.55. A 25-pip stop is 4.00 lots. An 8-pip scalp stop would allow 12.50 lots, which a 0.8 pip Kiwi spread and a Wellington wick will eat.
Typical spreads are 0.4 to 1.0 pips. Daily ATR is 48 to 70 pips. Intraday stops belong at 15 to 25 pips. Swing stops at 40 to 60 pips drop 1% size to 2.50 to 1.67 lots. If Asia already spent 40 pips, do not keep 5.55 lots for a London fade.
RBNZ at 02:00 UTC is why 2.77 lots is the default
A 5% floor is $5,000. 5.55 lots need 90 pips to end the day, which is one large Kiwi session plus slip. RBNZ can travel 40 to 70 pips. 5.55 × 50 × 10 = $2,775. 2.77 lots at 18 pips is $500 clean, about $1,385 on that same 50-pip statement bar.
If you start free on Venasri, flatten into 02:00 UTC RBNZ and known Global Dairy Trade prints. Set Venasri Equity Guard to close the Kiwi near 3.5% so a New York dollar spike cannot spend the last 1.5% on a leftover Asian add.
AUDUSD is not a second 0.50% just because it is not NZD
Correlation near 0.88 means long Kiwi plus long Aussie is one Oceania book. If AUDUSD already uses 2.50 lots, NZDUSD does not get 2.77 lots on the same China-and-dollar view.
Gold agreement still matters. Correlation Guard should cap the commodity-dollar stack. 0.6000, 0.6050, and 0.6100 are where those stacks find the same stop when RBNZ and RBA rhyme.
Size from 0.6050 in Wellington or New York, not in leftover London
Measure the stop beyond the 00 or 50 figure plus 1.5× ATR. If that is 22 pips, 0.50% is 2.27 lots. Do not cut to 10 pips to keep 5.55 lots through a dairy print.
Confirm 21:30 to 03:00 UTC or 12:30 to 16:00 UTC, spread under 1.0 pip, and no open Aussie clone on the AI Pre-Trade Checklist. Kiwi lots sit above EURUSD because the stop is tighter. The tighter stop is a session privilege, not a permanent setting.
