$1 CFD, $5 MES, $50 ES: do not mix them
Prop US500/SPX500 CFDs are often $1.00 per point. MES is $5. ES is $50. 55.55 CFD lots at 18 points is $1,000 at $1/point. 55 ES lots would be $50 per point × 55 × 18 = $49,500. That conversion error is the career-ending version of "S&P lot size."
Spread 0.3 to 0.6 points, the tightest US index. ATR 45 to 85 points, smaller in points than NAS100, which is why the 1% stop is 18 points and lots look huge on a CFD. Handles 5800, 5850, 5900 (25/50/75/00) are gamma walls, not just round numbers.
Gamma pins, FOMC, and the 15:50 ET MOC
0DTE options pin ES around big 50-point strikes. Mean reversion to HVN/POC works until it does not: FOMC at 18:00 UTC and the 15:50 ET market-on-close imbalance. Trading a 6-point scalp into FOMC with 55 lots is a pin that got fired.
Cash hours 13:30 to 20:00 UTC are the product. connect your MT5 account to Venasri and treat 15:50 ET and FOMC as blackouts even when the rest of the day was a 12-point coil.
55.55 CFD lots at 18 points, or 11 MES
At $1/point: lots = 1000 / 18 = 55.56, stored as 55.55 at 1%, 27.77 at 0.50%. At $5 MES, 1% is 11.11 micros. At $50 ES, 1% is 1.11 minis. Put the correct tick in the Half-Kelly Lot Size Calculator & Equity Guard.
Scalp 6 to 12 points only when a gamma wall is obvious and spread is 0.3. Intraday 14 to 24. Swing 38 to 65 at ~15 CFD lots. If NAS100 is open, US500 does not get 27 extra lots. Same beta, tighter pin.
Trade the pin or the FOMC, not both with 55 lots
Intraday: fade 25/50 strikes toward POC with 14 to 24 point stops during RTH, 27.77 lots. Event: flatten into FOMC and MOC. Overnight: MES-equivalent size only.
Confirm strike wall, unused Nasdaq/Dow budget, and 15:50/FOMC clear on the Pre-Trade AI Confluence Checklist. US500 is a precision index. The 55-lot number is a CFD optical illusion, not an invitation.
