The $11.40 pip is why 4.38 beats 5.00
One lot is 100,000 USD. Quote is CHF, pip value ≈ $11.40. A 20-pip stop is $228 per lot. $1,000 / $228 ≈ 4.39, rounded to 4.38. A 28-pip stop is 3.13 lots at 1%. Traders who keep 5.00 lots "because it is a major" are 14% overweight before correlation is counted.
Typical spreads are 0.3 to 0.9 pips. Daily ATR is 50 to 75 pips. Intraday stops belong at 18 to 28 pips. A 8-pip scalp on 11 lots is inside SNB language and inside a safe-haven rush that EURUSD will also print from the other side.
SNB plus the euro clone is why 2.19 lots is the default
A 5% floor is $5,000. At $11.40 per pip, 4.38 lots need 100 pips to end the day. SNB assessments can travel 50 to 100 pips. 4.38 × 80 × 11.40 ≈ $4,000. 2.19 lots at 20 pips is $500 clean, about $2,000 on that same 80-pip policy bar.
If you start free on Venasri, treat SNB like NFP. Set Venasri Equity Guard to flatten USDCHF near 3.0% and to block the ticket when EURUSD already occupies the dollar view.
EURUSD open means USDCHF risk is already used
Correlation near -0.92 is not a trivia fact. Long euro and short franc are one USD-short. If EURUSD already uses 2.50 lots, USDCHF gets zero new risk that session unless the euro is closed.
EURCHF is the third corner of the triangle. Correlation Guard should cap the euro-franc-dollar stack. 0.8750, 0.8800, and 0.8850 are where those stacks find the same stop on an SNB headline.

Measure the stop beyond the 00 or 50 handle plus 1.5× ATR. If that is 24 pips, 0.50% is 500 / (24 × 11.40) ≈ 1.83 lots. Do not cut to 12 pips to keep 4.38 lots on a quiet-looking day.
Confirm 06:30 to 10:30 or 12:30 to 15:30 UTC, spread under 0.9 pips, and no open EURUSD clone on the AI Pre-Trade Checklist. Swissy lots sit just under EURUSD. The $11.40 pip is why they must sit under, not on top of, the euro ticket.
