5,000 ounces, $50 a tick, 0.66 lots
One lot is 5,000 troy ounces. The silver pip on most MT5 CFDs is $0.01, and 5,000 × $0.01 = $50.00. A 30-pip ($0.30) stop is $1,500 per lot. $1,000 / $1,500 = 0.67, rounded to 0.66. A 45-pip stop is 0.44 lots at 1%. A 1.00 lot silver ticket risks $1,500 on a routine 30-cent pullback and $5,000 on a $1.00 day, which is the entire 5% floor.
Typical spreads are 1.8 to 3.2 pips ($0.018 to $0.032), already $90 to $160 round-trip per lot. Daily ATR is 65 to 110 pips ($0.65 to $1.10). Intraday stops belong at 25 to 45 pips. A 12-pip scalp on 1.67 lots is a spread tax plus a COMEX wick.
The gold lot does not transfer, and 0.33 is the default
Gold is $10 per 0.10 pip. Silver is $50 per $0.01. The contracts are not cousins for sizing. 0.33 lots at 30 pips is $495, which is the evaluation line. 0.66 lots is the ceiling for a clean COMEX trend, not a starting size after Asia.
If you start free on Venasri, lock silver at 0.33 lots until 20 clean COMEX sessions. Set Venasri Equity Guard to flatten near 3.0%, because $50 per pip eats $5,000 in 100 pips on a 1.00 lot ticket.
Gold open means silver does not get its own 0.50%
XAGUSD is 1.6× gold beta. Long gold at 0.72 lots plus long silver at 0.33 lots is one metals book stacked. If gold is open, silver risk for that session is near zero unless gold is closed.
Correlation Guard should cap the metals basket. 31.00, 31.50, and 32.00 are where CPI and the COMEX open find those stacked stops. A gold-silver "hedge" still consumes daily loss when both metals dump together.
Size from $31.50 during COMEX, never from a gold habit
Measure the stop beyond the $0.50 handle plus 1.5× ATR. If that is 36 pips, 0.50% is 500 / (36 × 50) = 0.28 lots. Do not "round up to 1 lot" because the platform feels better at whole numbers. Whole-lot silver on $100,000 is a daily-limit product.
Confirm 12:25 to 16:00 UTC, spread under 3.5 pips, and gold agreement on the AI Pre-Trade Checklist. Silver lots must look too small on a gold trader's screen. That discomfort is the correct math.
