Seven small stops fit, four large ones do not
At 0.50%, the ticket is $500 and five full losses equal the $2,500 day. That is the middle of the range, not a cushion. At 0.35%, $350 times seven is $2,450, so the seventh stop is the approach and the eighth is the breach. At 0.65%, $650 times three is $1,950 and the fourth is $2,600. Anyone who copies a "seven stops at 0.65%" slogan onto this firm is using another desk's daily loss. Here the day is 2.5%, and the maximum trail starts at 3%, $3,000.
The trail can bind before the day does. A planned $650 loss is fine against $2,500 until an earlier open-profit spike has already walked the $3,000 threshold up. Then the same $650 is a larger share of what is left. Equity Guard at 1.75%, $1,750, is the flatten on a parallel MT5 book and the number you should also respect on the futures P&L.
60 points on NQ is a different product than 60 points on MNQ
NQ is $20 per point. A 60-point stop is $1,200 per contract, 1.2% of $100K, almost half the day and 40% of the starting trail. A 100-point stop is $2,000. MNQ is $2 per point, so a 60-point stop is $120. Three micros are $360, near a 0.35% ticket. Four micros are $480, near 0.50%. The structural stop in the 60 to 100 point band belongs on micros until the account is large enough that one NQ is actually 0.50%.
The 5:1 maximum stop-to-target rule still applies. An 80-point stop needs a target of at least 16 points. Widening the stop after entry and leaving the target unchanged is how a legal 4:1 idea becomes a banned ratio and a bigger dollar loss at the same time. Manual Trade Guard can pin the original stop on an MT5 ticket. On Tradovate the stop has to be on the order when it fills.
PA accounts add a per-trade loss cap beside the day
The daily-loss basis names a 30% maximum negative PnL per trade on Performance Accounts, together with the intraday trailing threshold. Confirm the base of that 30% on your dashboard before you translate it into contracts. What is already numeric is the 2.5% day and the 3% trail. A single NQ loss of $1,200 can satisfy the day and still violate a per-trade cap once you are on the PA. Evaluation size and PA size are not the same permission.
Semi-automated assistants are allowed. Unattended black-box bots are prohibited on PA accounts. Rithmic and Tradovate quote-to-order limits punish a lot-size script that modifies every tick. Bot Control can block a second entry after a losing close on an MT5 account you run with the same card. It will not resize your NQ for you.
A $100K card you can actually trade
Write 0.35% to 0.50% as the working band, $350 to $500. That is two to four MNQ on a 60-point stop, or about three MNQ on an 80-point stop at the $500 end ($2 times 80 times 3 is $480). Flat before 4:59 PM ET. Seven minimum evaluation days. The 6% target is $6,000, so you need the small ticket repeated, not one contract that risks a quarter of the target on a stop.
Open a free Venasri account and store MNQ, not NQ, as the $100K default. The 100% split on the first $25,000 per account, then 90%, is a payout story. The lot is what decides whether the trail ever lets you get there. Up to 20 PA accounts does not mean 20 full NQ contracts. It means 20 books that each still have a 2.5% day.
