The first candle is the stop hunt, not the signal
NAS100 regularly sweeps both sides of the pre-market range in the opening minutes of the 9:30 AM ET cash session. US30 does the same work with a wider point range, often hundreds of points across the day. A 60 to 100 point stop placed inside that first candle is a donation. Let the whip print, then trade the direction that remains, with the stop behind the sweep rather than inside it.
At $1 per point, 80 points of risk wants about 6.25 lots to equal $500. A 100-point US30 stop wants 5.00 lots for the same $500. Ten lots, the number people use for a 50-point fantasy, is $800 to $1,000 if the real structure is 80 to 100 points. Bot controls should compute points times lots before the click.
NAS100 and US30 often stop out together
The two indices are highly correlated around the cash open. A NAS100 idea and a US30 idea in the same direction are one equity bet with two tickets. If each is $500, the cluster is $1,000, a fifth of the $5,000 day on a $100,000 2-step. Take one. If you take both, cut each unit so the sum is still the unit you wrote down.
The 1-step day is $4,000. A $1,000 cluster is already a quarter of it. Pro maximum loss is $8,000 static and Standard is $10,000, but the day will end you before those floors if the open goes against both tickets. Open a Venasri account and store a single equity-risk cap for the New York hour.
Scalping fails the 2,000-message cap before it fails the chart
Funded red-folder minutes are a separate block of 5 minutes before and after the release. The 13:30 UTC open sometimes is the release, when CPI or a similar print lands at 8:30 AM ET and the cash open is still digesting it. If the funded window covers your entry bar, there is no scalp. Flat is the position.
Have the account flatten live before 13:30 UTC
Equity Guard on a $100,000 2-step should already be near $4,250 before the open, and near $3,250 on the 1-step. The whip will not wait while you type the number. A stop that slips 40 extra points at 6 lots is another $240 you did not budget. The buffer under $5,000 exists for that slip.
The day still resets at 00:00, GMT+2 or GMT+3, from the higher of balance or equity. An index runner held from the cash session into that snapshot can raise the next day. Scale out. The 40% best-day rule on Instant and rapid tiers will also dislike one opening drive that makes the entire cycle. Book a piece and leave the hero day to someone else's account.
