Funded silence is 5 minutes on either side
The published restriction is a funded rule: no straddling red-folder events in the 5 minutes before the print or the 5 minutes after it. CPI, NFP, and FOMC are the releases that actually move gold and the US indices. A position opened at 4 minutes before the print is already late. A position you meant to close at the print and closed at 6 minutes after it has spent the window.
The evaluation contract is not a copy of the funded window. People pass while trading news and then meet the 5-minute block on the first funded month. Open a Venasri account before that month and store the funded clock separately from the evaluation habit.
A slipped stop is still a day-loss dollar
If you are already in, and CPI runs through the stop, the fill counts against the 5% day immediately. On $100,000 that day is $5,000 on 2-step Standard and Pro. The 1-step day is $4,000. A gold stop that was 50 pips and fills 120 pips away is more than double the cash you wrote down. The 5-minute rule does not cap the slippage. It tells you not to be in the release.
Pro maximum loss is a static 8%, or $8,000 on $100,000. Standard is a static 10%. One news slip rarely takes the whole maximum. It takes the day, and the day is what ends most funded months. Size so one widened gold fill stays inside a single half-percent unit, about $500, with room for the widen.
Flatten scheduled risk before the release, not during it
Gold at 1.00 lot is $100 per $1 of price and $10 per 0.10 move. A $3 spike through a tight stop is $300 at one lot and $600 at two. NAS100 and US30 widen in the same minute. The practical move is to be flat a few minutes before the 5-minute block starts, so you are not trying to click inside the spread. Bot controls should refuse new risk inside that funded window.
Personal EAs are allowed. A bot that is coded to trade the print is a funded breach even if it is your own code. High-frequency news sniping is also the latency behavior the EA rule bans. The 2,000 server message cap is a second way that a frantic cancel-replace loop around the number fails the account.
Leave a cash buffer because the slip is wider than the plan
Equity Guard on a $100,000 2-step should flatten near $4,250, $750 inside the $5,000 day. That buffer exists for the gold fill that is worse than the stop. If you set the guard at $5,000, the slip and the guard arrive as the same print. On the 1-step use about $3,250 against the $4,000 day.
The daily anchor is still the higher of balance or equity at 00:00, GMT+2 or GMT+3. A news winner you hold into that snapshot can raise the next day line, and the next red-folder is then measured from a richer number. Bank the spike you were allowed to keep. Do not donate it to the following session.
