What 'EA allowed' means on four FTMO platforms
Standard and Swing evaluations accept EAs on MT5, MT4, cTrader, and DXtrade. Trade managers that attach stops and partials are in that set. Full entry bots are in that set if they are yours. What is not in that set is a mass-market challenge-passing robot shared across unrelated users. FTMO's risk desk has a decade of those samples. Unique parameters and a request log that looks like a human-plus-guard, not a tick grid, is the practical test.
The 2-Step still has a 5 percent daily loss ($5,000 on $100K) and a static 10 percent max. The EA does not receive a wider floor. 1-Step still has a 3 percent daily line. If the bot cannot size 0.50 percent, it does not belong on either product.
Counting toward 2,000: trails, partials, and 10016 retries
Retcode 10016 retries must not loop. Clamp once to STOPLEVEL, cut lots, stop. A retry storm is how a legal stop attachment becomes a hyperactivity flag. Log projected modifies before London if you run gold.
Copy trading versus a second login you control
Mirroring your own FTMO login to a personal account with a risk guard is a different fact pattern from subscribing to a Telegram signal that also sits on 400 other Challenges. FTMO does not owe you the benefit of the doubt on the second pattern. If you need a copier, copy from a master you own, keep lots inside 0.50 percent, and keep the 2,000 budget on the slave as well.
News and weekend rules still bind the EA. A Standard funded bot that holds into Friday or into a CPI print two minutes either side is not saved by being automated. Swing is the product that holds, at 1:30 leverage. Code the product you bought.
Quiet automation: ZeroMQ, not broker polling
start free on Venasri and run the EA only through 24/7 MT5 Bot Control. If the strategy cannot live on price-step trails, it cannot live on FTMO, regardless of backtest profit.
