Why seven losers is the design test
Seven losses at 0.65% land at 4.55%, which approaches the 5% daily line without crossing it on the arithmetic alone. Spread, commission, and a gap can still push the seventh loser through. If you start a free Venasri account, write the cash risk down before you convert it to a lot on MT5, MT4, cTrader, or DXtrade.
At 0.35% the same seven losers use only 2.45%. That smaller unit leaves more of the day intact, which is the point of the floor of the band. The 5% line on a $100,000 2-Step account is $5,000. $350 and $650 are the dollar ends of the band on that balance.
The static 10% floor is a second budget, not a larger per-trade size
The lifetime maximum on the 2-Step path is a static 10%, or $10,000 on $100,000. Traders who size off that lifetime number instead of the daily number are using the wrong budget. Two days of 0.65% clusters can survive the 10% floor and still die on the second 5% day.
The 1-Step daily limit is 3%, or $3,000 on $100,000. A $650 loss is a much larger slice of that shorter day. Do not copy a 2-Step size onto a 1-Step login. Put Equity Guard on the daily percentage of the product you actually bought.
Request count and ticket size are different limits
FTMO allows Expert Advisors and still caps the day at 2,000 order and modification requests. Cutting the lot and then trailing the stop on every tick can pass the cash test and fail the request test. Size the trail in price steps you can count.
There is no hard mathematical consistency cap. Extreme single-ticket gambling can still be flagged in a risk review. A 0.65% plan that is really one giant position split into pieces will not look like seven small losers. It will look like one bet.
Build the lot from the stop, not from a habit
Pick the cash unit inside $350 to $650 on $100,000, place the stop where the idea is wrong, then read the lot the platform gives you. Open MT5 bot control so that conversion happens on the FTMO login, not on a demo with a different contract size. A lot that risks $1,200 is outside this band even if it feels normal on gold.
Phase 1 still asks for 10% and Phase 2 for 5%, across at least four trading days. The band does not promise those targets. It keeps a losing morning from erasing the attempt before the fourth day exists.
