Higher of balance or equity, then 5%
Write the daily line as 0.05 times max(day-start balance, equity at 00:00 UTC+3) on 2-Step Standard, Pro, and Flex. On $100K with a flat closed balance and no float, that is $5,000. On $100K with $103,500 equity at the snapshot, that is 5% of $103,500, which is $5,175 of room below $103,500, not $5,000 below $100,000. If equity then falls to $98,200, you have spent $5,300 from the snapshot and you are done, even if you are still above the static 10% lifetime floor at $90,000.
Pro's static max is 6% ($6,000). Flex's is 12% ($12,000). 1-Step daily is 4% ($4,000) with a 6% max. Zero Instant trails. The calculator has to branch on mode before it prints a dollar number. Copying a Standard $5,000 / $10,000 card onto Pro is how people tag 6% lifetime while thinking they still had 10%.
The +$3,500 gold example, in cash
You buy gold on a $100K Standard account. At 23:59 UTC+3 the position is +$3,500, closed balance still $100,000. Midnight picks $103,500. The new daily floor sits $5,175 under that equity, near $98,325. Gold mean-reverts $4,000. Equity is $99,500. You still look fine versus $90,000 static max. You are not fine versus the daily rule: you burned $4,000 of a $5,175 daily hole in the first hours of the new day. One more ugly London hour ends the evaluation. Closing $3,000 before midnight would have booked it to balance and left a $5,000 hole under $103,000 closed, which is a different survival story.
That is the FundingPips-specific reason to flatten or partial before UTC+3 when the float is large relative to 5%. It is not a general sermon about overnight risk. It is arithmetic on the word higher. You can start a free Venasri account and log a week of snapshots so you can see how often your real float would have moved the floor.
Consistency score is a second drawdown you cannot see on the chart
Zero Instant and On-Demand rewards require a 45% consistency score. A $4,400 day on a cycle that has only $9,000 of total profit is already 48% and can stall the payout even when 5% daily never printed. The daily calculator can say pass while the payout calculator says wait. Standard evaluation has no that score, which is why traders with lumpy gold days should not migrate to Zero just to skip Phase 2.
Funded 5-minute news windows still debit daily loss if a stop runs during the print. Weekend holds are allowed on many books but Friday leverage cuts can gap Monday into the same daily hole. Count those events as extra volatility against the 5% line, not as free holds. Keep server requests under 2,000 so the dollar formula remains the only formula that can fail you.
Guard the cash line, then guard the clock
Point Venasri Equity Guard at roughly $4,250 of daily loss on $100K Standard when the midnight snapshot was near $100,000. If the snapshot was $103,500, the official daily hole is larger in dollars and the guard should move with it, or you will flatten too early on a day that legally had more room, or too late on a day that did not. Recalculate after every UTC+3 roll when you hold float. Pro users must also respect the $6,000 lifetime line, which can bind before daily does after a slow bleed.
Hook the ZeroMQ MT5 Bridge so the 3-second poll is on live FundingPips equity. Use 24/7 MT5 Bot Control to pause funded entries inside the 5-minute news window and to partial large winners 20 to 40 minutes before UTC+3. That partial is the calculator control: you choose which day's 5% budget owns the pullback.
