The unit doubled because the balance doubled
Daily loss is a fixed 5% of the initial $200,000, which is $10,000, reset at 17:00 New York. The static maximum is $20,000, so equity at $180,000 ends the challenge. Half a percent is $1,000. At $10 per pip that is 2.00 lots with a 50-pip FX stop, or 5.00 lots with a 20-pip stop. Gold at $10 per 0.10 move is 2.00 lots on a 50-pip stop.
The $500 click imported from the smaller account is 0.25% here. It will not breach you quickly, and it will make an 8% target feel endless, which is when traders double the lot mid-phase and skip the arithmetic. Bot controls should load $1,000 as the cash cap on day one, not after the first frustrating week.
Phase 1 is $16,000 and Phase 2 is a full day
Phase 1 is 8%, $16,000. Phase 2 is 5%, $10,000, the same cash as the daily loss. Three minimum trading days apply, and Classic 2-Step adds no consistency score. At $1,000 per 1R you need sixteen net winners for Phase 1. At the leftover $500 unit you need thirty-two. Neither count is a single afternoon, and a single afternoon that risks $4,000 to "speed it up" is four units, almost half the day.
Two official days at $10,000 consume the entire $20,000 maximum. Sign up on Venasri and keep this balance on its own risk card. A $100,000 template pasted onto $200,000 silently halves every stop or, worse, keeps the big lots and doubles the pain. The fee people remember from the $100,000 challenge, $499, is not the risk budget.
A one-lot gold gap is cheap here and a two-lot gap is a unit
Weekend holding is allowed. A 50-pip Sunday gap on 2.00 lots of gold is about $1,000, one full unit, before Monday's first decision. The same gap on 1.00 lot is $500 and looks harmless until it stacks on a position you forgot was still open across 17:00 New York on Friday. The reset does not care that the chart was quiet when you left.
The two-minute ban on opening or closing orders around high-impact news applies at this size exactly as it does on the small accounts. A 20-pip slip on 2.00 lots of gold is about $400 extra. The daily line can absorb $400. It cannot absorb $400 on top of a stop that was already $1,500 because the lot was rounded up. The initial-balance rule also means a large open winner does not expand today's $10,000.
Flatten near $8,500 and rebuild after a funded high
Equity Guard should flatten near $8,500, 4.25% of $200,000, leaving $1,500 before the official $10,000. A guard copied from the $100,000 book at $4,250 cuts this account at 2.125%, which is safe and also so tight that normal gold noise will flatten you on a day you were supposed to trade. Pick the dollar level from this balance.
After promotion, the 10% maximum trails the end-of-day balance. A close at $230,000 puts the trail near $207,000, well above the old static floor at $180,000. You can be in profit versus the start and still be near a breach. Update that floor before the next session, and keep the $1,000 unit tied to risk, not to the excitement of a six-figure float.
