Three ordinary losers are the whole Lightning day
Lightning daily loss is 3%. On $100,000 that is $3,000. A trader who risks 1% because the setup feels high quality is risking $1,000. Three such stops, even on three different days if each one is the main event of that day, are the entire allowance of a single day when they cluster, and they are a third of the account maximum when they are spread out. The failure note does not say the strategy was foolish. It says the day is gone.
The 6% trail is marked at the end of the day
The Lightning maximum is 6% and it trails the end-of-day equity peak. From a $100,000 start the first floor is $94,000. Three losing days of $1,000 leave equity near $97,000 if nothing else happened, which is $3,000 above that original floor and already out of daily room if they occurred inside one session. After a strong close, the floor rises. A later $3,000 losing day can breach a trail that a flat week would still have survived.
Intraday spikes that are closed before the session ends are not the same event as a higher end-of-day reading. Traders who watch the high of the candle and mentally raise their own floor are being stricter than the firm during the session and then surprised when the official trail steps up only after the close. Read the end-of-day equity, subtract 6%, and that is the new lifetime line. Then look at tomorrow 3% day separately. Both can kill the account, and they kill it on different clocks.
00:00 can hand the next day a richer, meaner base
The daily anchor is the higher of day-start balance or equity at 00:00 ThinkMarkets server time, GMT+2 or GMT+3. A Lightning runner that is $1,500 ahead at 23:50 does not donate a cushion. The snapshot can use the higher equity. A full giveback after midnight spends $1,500 of a $3,000 day before the new session has a thesis. Closed balance can still show yesterday as a win.
Overnight holding is allowed, so this snapshot is a normal event, not an edge case. A funded weekend hold needs the swing add-on, which makes Friday into Sunday the long version of the same rule. Wednesday triple swap also debits the day you thought was flat. A small financing charge plus a Sunday gap plus one 1% loss is how a Lightning account dies without a single oversized click. Dual Step has more dollars in the day, and the same midnight rule still applies to its $4,000.
Flatten Lightning at $2,250 and do not wait for the third loss
Equity Guard on Lightning should flatten near $2,250 on $100,000, leaving $750 before the official $3,000. That level is reached after two losses of about $1,000 with a little room, or after four losses at a $500 unit with room for spread. The third 1% ticket should not be available once the guard has fired. Dual Step can keep its flatten at $3,250. Using that looser number on Lightning means the firm prints the breach while your protection is still waiting.
Create a Venasri login and name the card Lightning if that is what you bought. Recompute the 6% trail after every higher end-of-day close, and partial a four-figure float before midnight. The hidden breach is rarely a mystery wick. It is three planned 1% outcomes, or one open winner that the 00:00 snapshot turned into tomorrow starting problem.
