Three published trailing amounts
The end-of-day trailing maximum loss is $2,000 on $50,000, $3,000 on $100,000, and $4,500 on $150,000. It updates from the end-of-day balance, not from an intraday spike that you later give back before the close. That is the difference from a tick-by-tick trail. Equity Guard should flatten on the 2% daily loss as well, because the trail is not the only line.
Both the 1-Step and the 2-Step use a 3% maximum and a 2% daily loss. On $100,000 the 3% figure is $3,000, which matches the published trailing amount on that size. Phase 2 target is 0%. There is no second profit hurdle after the 6% Phase 1 target.
What the $0 buffer means
The trail locks when the buffer is back at the initial balance. After enough profit, the floor stops rising and sits at the start. Before that lock, a green end-of-day balance pulls the floor up. You can finish a day green and have less room tomorrow than you had this morning. Create a Venasri account and record the floor after the session, not only the profit.
Intraday giveback that is recovered before the end of the day does not move an end-of-day trail. A giveback that is still there at the session mark does. The flatten time is 3:10 PM CT, and the new CME session is 5:00 PM CT. The trail's day and the flatten clock are the same afternoon.
The 50% day can matter before the trail does
On a $100,000 Combine the largest winning day cannot exceed 50% of the profit target. The published example is a $3,000 maximum day against a $6,000 target. A day that blows through that figure rewrites the target even if the trailing loss never moved against you. The trail protects losses. The consistency rule polices wins.
Payouts are 100% of the first $10,000, then 90%. You can request up to 50% of balance after five winning days of at least $200. None of that pays if the trail locked you out or the consistency math extended the target. The bot should stop adding size once the day's open loss approaches the 2% line.
Why this is not a 10% static shelf
A static 10% floor from a CFD firm stays a fixed distance from the start no matter how high the balance goes. Topstep's maximum walks up at the end of the day until it locks at the initial balance. Treating a Topstep $100,000 account as if it had a $10,000 static hole will overstate the room. The published hole is $3,000, trailing, plus a 2% day.
The $100,000 subscription is $99 a month. Platforms are TopstepX, NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView, and Quantower. Automated tools are allowed if they stay inside CME Globex order-to-fill limits. There is no 2,000-modification number published here. A CFD modification count is a different firm's rule.
