FTMO grades the book, not your average price
Phase 1's 10% target tempts averaging because the hole looks temporary. Phase 2's 5% target is smaller, so the same grid fails faster. Neither phase needs a named martingale clause for the $5,400 NAS100 path to print a fail.
The $5,400 NAS100 path versus a $5,000 daily cap
1.00 lot at -40 points (-$400), 1.50 added at -40, 2.00 added at -80, 4.50 lots combined. One hundred twenty more points of continuation is about -$5,400. FTMO daily is $5,000. The Challenge is over while the original thesis was a 40-point fade. That is not a black-swan news story. It is inventory.
activate Venasri free on your MT5 account on the FTMO login so the add is blocked or at least alerted before the third lot lands.
Guard the combined inventory
FTMO's 2,000-request cap also hates grid EAs that modify every add. Do not automate averaging. If you need a second entry, it must be a new, pre-planned zone with combined risk still under 0.50%.
One idea, one ticket, on FTMO MT5
If the first ticket is red, the second ticket is a new evaluation of structure, not a repair. After two adds, pause for the day. You still need 4 trading days. Burning one of them on a grid wastes the calendar and the $540 fee. Swing accounts can hold; they should not pyramid losers overnight into the Prague reset.
