The underwater add, not the winner pyramid
The detector is specific: a new position on a symbol while existing open positions on that symbol sit in negative floating PnL. Adding to a locked winner is not this rule. Adding to a red book because a lower average would let you scratch on a tiny bounce is the rule. Maven, Alpha Capital, FundingPips, and FTMO risk reviews treat martingale and grid stacking as a method ban, not a style preference.
NAS100 grid math that a 5% daily cap cannot survive
Hold 1.00 lot at -40 points (-$400). Add 1.50 at -40. Add 2.00 at -80. Combined size is 4.50 lots. One hundred twenty more points of continuation is about -$5,400, which is past a $5,000 daily limit on a $100,000 2-Step. The original idea was a 40-point pullback. The live idea is a full-size trend against an inventory you grew on purpose.
That is why averaging down is listed next to revenge clusters in breach autopsies. It does not need a news candle. It needs patience in the wrong direction. activate Venasri free on your MT5 account so the add is an alert, not a silent average.

Replace the average with a planned second entry
If the thesis allows a second ticket, define it before the first fill: a higher-timeframe zone, a new CHoCH, a lot cap, and a combined risk that still fits 0.50% of equity. If the first ticket is red and none of those conditions printed, there is no second ticket. Close, or hold the original stop. Do not manufacture a new average.
