100,000 euros, $10 a pip, 5.00 lots at 20 pips
One standard lot is 100,000 EUR. Quote is USD, pip is 0.0001, pip value is $10.00. A 20-pip stop is $200 per lot. $1,000 / $200 = 5.00 lots. A 25-pip stop is 4.00 lots. An 8-pip scalp stop would allow 12.50 lots at 1%, which looks clever until a 12-pip London wick is normal noise.
Typical raw prop spreads are 0.1 to 0.6 pips. Daily ATR is 55 to 85 pips. That combination is why a 18 to 30 pip intraday stop is legal during 07:00 to 10:00 UTC and 12:00 to 16:00 UTC, and why the same stop is fiction at 21:00 UTC rollover.
Half the ceiling is the evaluation default
A 5% daily limit is $5,000. Five 1% losers in a row end the day. Most challenges cannot survive that sequence once ECB slippage is added. 2.50 lots at 20 pips is $500, which is a 10-loss buffer against the daily floor if fills are clean.
If you start free on Venasri, set 0.50% as the default and let Venasri Equity Guard flatten near 3.5%. The leftover 1.5% is for the 16:00 UTC WM fix, not for a third add on 1.0800.
USDCHF is not diversification from a 5.00 lot euro ticket
USDCHF tracks EURUSD at about -0.92. Long euro plus short franc is one dollar bet. If EURUSD already uses 2.50 lots, the Swissy does not get its own 4.38 lots. Split $500 across the basket or pick the cleaner chart.
Cable is the other trap. GBPUSD wants 4.00 lots at 25 pips, not 5.00 at 20 pips, because the Judas wick is wider. Running both at full 1% is two USD-short tickets into the same NFP candle.
Size from the figure, then check the clock
Place the stop beyond 1.0800, 1.0850, or 1.0900 plus 1.5× M15 ATR, then compute lots. If that distance is 28 pips, 1% is 3.57 lots and 0.50% is 1.79. Do not shrink the stop to keep 5.00 lots.
Confirm session (07:00 to 10:00 or 12:00 to 15:30 UTC), spread under 0.6 pips, and no ECB or NFP inside 30 minutes on the AI Pre-Trade Checklist. Flatten before 16:00 UTC if you are not a fixing desk. Depth is not a license to oversize.
