The 06:45 UTC Judas and the real UK session
UK desks come online from 06:00 UTC. The first useful flow is often a raid of the Tokyo high or low between 06:45 and 07:30 UTC, then a reversal into the H4 trend. Selling the first break of 1.3000 because Asia already marked it is how Cable evaluations end before London lunch.
The second paying window is New York from 12:00 to 15:30 UTC, when the pair completes much of its 75 to 115 pip daily ATR. After 15:30 UTC the book starts to quiet. After 16:00 UTC you inherit the same fixing risk that EURUSD carries, with a wider typical spread.
Cable spread versus the 12-pip scalp fantasy
A 0.3 to 0.9 pip spread on a $10 pip is $3.00 to $9.00 per lot. That is cheap only if your stop is 24 to 40 pips. A 12-pip scalp stop spends 2% to 8% of the stop on the spread before the Judas wick arrives. Intraday Cable wants 24 to 40 pips. Swing Cable wants 60 to 95 pips.
If you start free on Venasri, size Cable from the stop out, not from a EURUSD 5.00 lot habit. At 1% of $100,000 a 25-pip stop is 4.00 lots. Half that (2.00 lots) is the evaluation default. Venasri Equity Guard should flatten if a morning Judas plus a New York add both go wrong on the same day.
06:00 UTC UK data is not a New York problem
UK CPI and GDP print at 06:00 UTC, often before US traders are awake. Bank of England MPC votes land in the London morning. Those stamps can travel 40 to 70 pips before New York opens. If you leave a tight stop on 1.2950 overnight, the first UK number can gap you through the daily floor.
US NFP still hits Cable hard at 12:30 UTC because the quote is dollars. Black out UK 06:00 prints, BoE, and US NFP. Do not treat Cable as a quieter EURUSD. The 75 to 115 pip ATR is the reason the lot size is 4.00, not 5.00.
Cable session rules that survive the Judas
Wait for a closed M15 reclaim after the 06:45 to 07:30 UTC sweep, or trade a New York continuation only if H4 still agrees. Require spread under 0.9 pips, stop beyond the 20, 50, 80, or 00 figure, and no UK or US red folder inside 30 minutes.
Park those gates on the AI Pre-Trade Checklist. Cable pays the trader who lets the fake break finish. It bills the trader who needs to be first through 1.3000.
