Same $10 pip as euro, wider body, different stop
1.00 lot of GBPUSD is 100,000 pounds. Pip value is $10.00 per 0.0001 because the quote is USD. The contract math matches EURUSD. The volatility does not. Daily ATR is 75 to 115 pips versus 55 to 85 on euro, and typical spread is 0.3 to 0.9 pips, three times noisier than a raw euro quote.
A 12-pip euro-style scalp stop on Cable is inside the 06:45 to 07:30 UTC stop-hunt. Use 12 to 18 pips only after that hunt completes and London is in gear. Intraday structure wants 24 to 40 pips. Swing wants 60 to 95.
UK 06:00 data, BoE votes, and the New York pass-back
UK CPI and GDP at 06:00 UTC hit before Frankfurt is fully in. That print can dump 40 pips, then London opens the other way. BoE MPC vote splits move Cable in chunks that ignore your M15 pattern. New York 12:00 to 15:30 UTC is the second real session, often a continuation of the post-Judas London trend.
NFP still slaps Cable. connect your MT5 account to Venasri and treat 06:00 UK prints plus 12:30 US prints as hard blackouts. The pair is liquid. The first minute after those stamps is not a market, it is an auction gap.
Four lots at 25 pips, not five lots at 20
Formula is still lots = 1000 / (stop pips × 10). Cable's honest intraday stop is closer to 25 pips, so 1% of $100,000 is 4.00 lots, not the euro 5.00. At 0.50% that is 2.00 lots. Figures that attract the hunt are 20, 50, 80, and 00 (1.2950, 1.3000, 1.3050).
If you insist on a 12-pip stop to "get more lots," you will be sized at 8.33 lots and stopped in the Judas. Put 25 pips into the Half-Kelly Lot Size Calculator & Equity Guard and live with 2.00 lots on an evaluation.
Wait for the hunt, then trade the UK office hours
Map the Asian high and low. Let 06:45 to 07:30 UTC run one side. Enter the reclaim in the direction of H4 during 07:30 to 10:30 UTC, or during the NY pass-back. Spread must be under 1.0 pip.
Confirm the hunt-complete flag on the Pre-Trade AI Confluence Checklist. Cable is not "euro with extra pips." It is a pair that taxes anyone who skips the first hour of London.
