FTMO $5K account risk plan: $250 day, $500 floor, $25 per trade

Direct Technical Answer

$250 is the full daily loss on the FTMO $5K account risk plan, because 5% of $5,000 is $250. The maximum loss is $500. Phase 1 is also $500. Each planned trade risks $25, which is 0.50% of the starting balance. Ten of those full losses equal the daily line with nothing left over.

A $5,000 FTMO account is not a smaller copy of a $100,000 plan with the same lots. The percentages match the 2-Step flagship, and the cash does not. One extra gold click can be the entire day.

$5K Daily Loss Limit $250 (5%)
$5K Max Drawdown $500 (10%)
0.5% Safe Risk / Trade $25 (0.13 FX Lots)
Phase 1 / 2 Targets $500 / $250

$250 is the whole day

The 2-Step daily test is 5%, reset at 00:00 CE(S)T from the day-start balance plus floating profit and loss. On this balance that is $250. If you start a free Venasri account, treat $250 as a hard cash stop for the Prague day, not as a rough guide. The 1-Step daily test is 3%, which is $150 here, and that path's 10% maximum trails at the end of the day.

Ten losses at $25 use the full $250. A single trade risked at $100 has already spent 40% of the day. The 0.35% to 0.65% band used on a $100,000 account would be $17.50 to $32.50 here if you scale the percentage. The published unit for this plan is the $25, or 0.50%, figure.

Phase 1 and the lifetime floor are the same $500

Maximum loss on the 2-Step path is a static 10% from the initial balance, $500. Phase 1 asks for the same $500. You are trying to make a sum equal to everything the account is allowed to lose in total. Phase 2 is 5%, or $250, which is exactly one full daily budget.

Four minimum trading days still apply. They do not shrink because the account is small. There is no hard best-day formula, but one ticket that makes most of the $500 can be reviewed. Equity Guard belongs under the $250 line. The 4.25% lock used on a $100,000 pass plan is $212.50 if you apply that same percentage here, and it is only appropriate on the 5% product.

Do not paste $100,000 gold lots onto $5,000

The gold cap of 0.80 to 1.45 standard lots is stated for a $100,000 challenge. It is not a $5,000 lot size. At $25 of risk, the lot has to come from the stop distance on your platform. A COMEX wick that is harmless on a large account can erase $250 here.

Standard funded accounts still flatten before the weekend and still restrict the 2-minute window on each side of red-folder news. Swing still caps leverage at 1:30 and allows the hold. Those clauses do not scale with balance. Wednesday triple-swap and the Sunday gap still count inside the $250.

The request ceiling is not smaller either

2,000 order and modification requests a day is the same ceiling as on a $100,000 login, across MT5, MT4, cTrader, and DXtrade. A small account does not get a small cap, and it does not get a free pass for tick trailing. Open MT5 bot control and keep edits few. The published $540 fee is the $100,000 price, not the price of this $5,000 evaluation.

Leaving a winner open through Prague midnight rebases the next $250 allowance on the closed balance. On an account this size, a modest giveback is the whole next day. Close the float or accept that tomorrow already started.

Frequently Asked Questions: FTMO $5K account risk plan: $250 day, $500 floor, $25 per trade

What is the daily loss on an FTMO $5,000 account?

5% of $5,000, which is $250, on the 2-Step path. It resets at 00:00 CE(S)T from the day-start balance plus floating profit and loss. The 1-Step daily loss is 3%, or $150, with an end-of-day trailing maximum still capped at 10%.

What is the Phase 1 target on FTMO $5K?

Phase 1 is 10%, or $500, the same dollar figure as the static maximum loss. Phase 2 is 5%, or $250, equal to one full daily loss. The minimum is four trading days. The per-trade unit in this plan is $25.

How many $25 losses fit in an FTMO $5K day?

Ten. 10 times $25 is $250, the entire 5% day. That is why a larger lot, or a second correlated ticket, finishes the account faster than the trade count suggests.

Can you use the $100,000 FTMO gold lot cap on $5K?

No. 0.80 to 1.45 lots is the cap published for a $100,000 challenge. On $5,000 the risk unit is $25. Convert that cash through the stop on your platform. Weekend and news rules do not get looser at this size.
