The Test can forgive a low the PRO account will keep
Start the day at $100,000. The original 3% trail sits near $97,000. During the Test that trail updates at the close. An intraday visit to $99,000, followed by a close back at $100,400, can leave the Test intact, because $2,200 was never touched and the close did not lock in the low. The same path on PRO is different once you have traded up to $102,000. An intraday trail $3,000 under that high sits at $99,000. Touching it ends the account.
You can be stopped while the closed blotter is barely red versus the morning. That is the funded surprise. It is not a midnight snapshot. It is the live low after a high. The bot desk should cut size on the first PRO morning so a normal pullback is not a $3,000 giveback from the high.
5:00 PM ET is the rollover that ends the position
FX habits flatten at 00:00. This book is flat at 5:00 PM ET every day, which also removes weekend holds. A runner nursed until midnight has already crossed the close, and the reopen gap belongs to you. One NQ through a 40-point gap is $800. The daily loss will take it even if you meant to be out.
The hidden version is a green Test week that teaches you the close is the only mark. PRO, until the buffer is built, marks the trail while the trade is open. The first pullback after the first funded high is the trade that used to be harmless at 4:50 PM ET and is now the breach at 10:40 AM ET.
A $1,000 hole can kill the trail without killing the daily loss
The hard day on $100,000 is $2,200. The example low, $99,000, is only halfway there if you measure from the start. People watching the daily-loss meter will see room and keep the trade. The meter that matters on PRO is the distance from the high. From $102,000 down to $99,000 is the full $3,000 trail. Both meters are real. Watching one of them is how the other one ends you.
On $50,000 the day is $1,100 and 3% is $1,500. A scaled-down version of the same story is a pop of $1,000 and a giveback of $1,500. On $150,000 the day is $3,300 and the trail distance is $4,500. Do not import the $102,000 and $99,000 picture onto those balances without rebuilding it.
Guard the giveback from the high, not only the hole from the start
Equity Guard should still flatten a $100,000 day near $1,450 versus the start, so $2,200 is not the first exit. On PRO it also needs a giveback limit from the session high. If you are up $2,000, a further $1,500 of giveback is already most of the $3,000 trail. Flatten before the platform does. The Test card, which only looks at the close, is the wrong card on this morning.
Sign up on Venasri and switch cards when the account flips to PRO. Keep the 5:00 PM ET flatten on both. The buffer, once the dashboard shows it, is what lets the intraday chase stop. Until that line is visible, the $99,000 touch after a $102,000 high is enough.
